Thank you,
we look forward to building with you in 2022!
The Habitat mission has always been important – but the rising cost of housing in our community has pushed our work into a critical space that requires us to work harder, and more creatively than ever before. Luckily, we are blessed with a team of dedicated supporters, volunteers, homeowners, and staff who have risen to the occasion and are taking on this challenge.
|
|
In the upcoming year, we are increasing our housing production by over 40% and adding nearly 100 critical repairs (a newer part of our mission that serves elderly and disabled members of the community who own a home but need a roof replacement, wheelchair ramp, or other substantial repairs to remain in their home safely and affordably). We couldn’t do this without the collective effort of everyone on our team, especially you!

|
Your investment in the Habitat mission is making it possible for families across our community to build and purchase their own home with a guaranteed affordable mortgage. We appreciate you, and we hope you will stop by this holiday season to see what your work is making possible. It is a joy to show off our efforts, and in a brief driving tour, you can see the impact of homeownership as we make our way from communities like Roseland Farms to our newest development, Bluebird Hill.
For 34 years, our community has been making it possible for families to realize the dream of owning their own home – and you have been part of that work.

Inspired by the idea to unite people through giving, the global movement #GivingTuesday was created in 2012. Directly following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday harnesses the power of social media to connect and encourage people around the world to give back to their communities during the holiday season.
Givers are invited to take action however they feel inspired to -- through donations, volunteering, advocacy, acts of kindness and more. Anyone can be a part of Giving Tuesday, including families, individuals, companies and organizations.
Habitat Volunteers are needed throughout the year, daily in our ReStore or every Thursday, Friday and Saturday on our build site from 8am-1pm to build energy-efficient homes. These homes are sold with guaranteed affordable mortgages to families in the community who invest their own sweat equity for the opportunity to purchase their home.

Annual Gala and Auction
Our signature fundraising event will be at the Pinehurst Country Club on Saturday, April 23rd at 6:00 pm. Our Gala Committee is already planning another exquisite night for all to celebrate the mission and the community that supports building affordable housing for hard working local families that keep our economy thriving.
Over the years our supporters have donated incredible gift packages that have made our auctions exciting and successful. This year we are thrilled to announce that we have TWO PREMIUM DUKE BASKETBALL TICKETS to one of COACH KRZYZEWSKI'S last games. Because of the date, this special auction item will be available the first week in December on habitatgala.org.
Do you have a rental property, time share, season tickets or other "experience" that you would like to donate to our auction? Please contact Amie Fraley at afraley@sandhillshabitat.org.

2022 Women Build Committee
We are thrilled to have so many of you interested in this unique build to celebrate the empowerment of women. Our effort will not only create a home for a special family, but it will serve as a reminder of what women can accomplish together.
Please welcome the “Wonder Women” of the 2022 Women Build Committee and support their effects to raise awareness of affordable housing in Moore County. The power and strength of women are amplified when we join together in a common cause and are inspired to push beyond our comfort zones. This year we will raise $70,000, which will help purchase construction materials for a Habitat Home.
