My Training Video Catalog Update Continues ...

Hello Everyone,

Ah summer -- that time of year when I typically have a few less client events and some time to work on my own stuff. And this year, I've taken advantage. As you saw in last month's issue, I posted a new video compilation of my best OneNote tips to my new GoTo "Anytime, On-Demand" recorded webinar series. And now, I've added three more videos to this collection, including ...

A Brand New Version of my "Taming the E-mail Beast" video program specifically for New & Web Outlook Users!

I have been wanting to create a video on this topic specifically for all of you that have recently converted to New/Web Outlook from the "classic" Outlook. This 80-minute video program shows you all of the tips in the New/Web Outlook user interface, and hits the major points:

  • Converting e-mails quickly and easily to task, calendar & contact items
  • File management strategies and tips, including using categories as labels to help in search/keeping your inbox clean
  • Setting up Rules to help both highlight important incoming messages but also reduce spam and junk
  • Setting up multiple signatures, drafts, and "blurbs" to automate and speed up common outgoing messages
  • Managing notifications so you can know when important/urgent messages come in, but not be distracted by all of the "squirrels"!
  • And much more ...

The regular price on this program is $69, but as a member of my list, you can take an additional $10 off that price and get this valuable "anytime" training video by using the discount code: RandyList at checkout. Here's the link:

https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/2022185943273287769

NOTE: This video could easily be used as a way to raise revenues and provide new content for your professional group or association by simply co-promoting the program to your members. If you'd like to know more, reach out to me at timelyman@outlook.com.

Please remember, this $69/$59 price is for a single-person license, so if you have others on your team that would also be interested, contact me for further per-person discounts for a multi-person license.

You could even use the multi-person license option to hold an ad hoc group training -- bring everyone together into a conference room with their laptops, play the video with pauses every 15-20 minutes, and let people start to play and share as they work and learn this powerful updated Microsoft 365 e-mail tool. I'm happy to walk you through the process to do this!

And once you have a single-person or group license, you will have access to the video until August of 2025.

Still using "Classic" Outlook (local client version)?

I have also posted a slightly-older Taming E-mail video program here -- this program hits all of the key learning points above but for those still using "Classic" Outlook.

The technical tips in this video program are still accurate for any of you still using the "Classic" version of Outlook, but since it is a bit of an older video, I've taken another $10 off the price. (Use RandyList at checkout for an additional $10 off).

And, if you are looking for tips on how to run better staff/team meetings, I've also now posted my most popular LearnFormula course, Managing & Leading Great Staff and Team Meetings, on my new GoTo "anytime" video platform too.

Here is the full list of the four video programs now available -- you can use the checkout code RandyList to take an additional $10 off the listed price of all four programs:

  1. A New Taming E-mail Course for Users of the New & Web Outlook versions: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/2022185943273287769
  2. My slightly older Taming E-mail video for “Classic” Outlook users: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/2714533022333978720
  3. My New Course on OneNote Productivity: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/5339107959145518938
  4. My video course on Managing Great Staff/Team Meetings: https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/536699554388263257 (Note: I often deliver this program in a very interactive half-day workshop format also.)

Remember, any and all of these programs could potentially be used as a way to add a new revenue stream for your professional group or association. Contact me at randy@randalldean.com for more info on how this works. Also send me a note if you'd like to set up a multi-person license for any of these programs at more deeply-discounted per-person rates.

My plan is to keep adding my video programs to this new "online, anytime" on demand catalog, with new programs for Outlook Time/Project Management (both "Classic" and "New/Web" Outlook), Taming the Gmail Beast, and Google Time/Project Management next in the queue. So watch for these additions to the catalog soon.

NOTE: If any of you have signed up for courses using my older "Online E-Learning Academy", my plan is to eventually move all of my courses to this new platform. I realized I have been paying for two platforms/shopping carts that effectively offer the same services, and I like the GoTo option that allows for people to submit questions. If you did purchase a program on the old platform, please contact me for a big discount on any of the programs listed above.

This Month's Life Hack:

A Simple Tip for Expanding Your Attention Span

In next month's issue, I plan to share two really interesting videos (not created by me) that talk about the usage of phones & tablets and related "dopamine addiction". The increasing use of TikTok, Reels, and Shorts as well as social media feeds has had a definite impact on many people's attention spans and ability to focus/be productive.

I'll try to release the next issue right after Labor Day, but in the interim, I'd like to give you a new habit to try: in between project/activity transitions (when you move from one thing to another), rather than picking up your phone for a "dopamine hit", try just looking out the window or staring at a photo or picture or walking to grab a cup of coffee or glass of water. If you do any of these "non tech" actions after completing a task or micro task, you might possibly re-train your brain to get that "dopamine hit" by getting back to work. You could actually use a de-tech strategy for micro-breaks throughout the day that help you better maintain productive focus while reducing wasted time on social and apps (a true win/win).

Give it a try, and watch for the next issue right after the upcoming holiday weekend.

I'm working on a bit of a work/life change here ...

I'm now one year away from being an "empty nester" -- my youngest started her senior year of high school yesterday. And I realized that I'm starting to "feel" all of my travel a bit more than I used to. Plus, I have a bit of a concern about the climate impacts of all of my travel (if you have an interest in my new e-book project on climate, you can get a new 5-chapter sneak peek here). And so, I'm trying to now work to build out my video programs and do more webinars and possibly start traveling a bit less.

Yes, I am absolutely still available for live, in-person events and training programs. But since I have the ability to produce this video work and I'm also now a Certified Virtual Presenter, I'm just working for a bit better of a mix. Keep that in mind if you are looking to add more virtual/video training to your mix for your company or group. I'd be happy to discuss ideas. I can even see many ways these efforts could help to raise revenues for your groups or associations, so reach out if you'd like to discuss.

And hopefully, I'll have a chance to thus write more, create more video programs, and even work in my garden a bit more since I'll be traveling a bit less.

With that being said, in coming weeks, I'll be in Orlando, Denver, Northern Michigan, Western Michigan, Des Moines/Cedar Rapids, Minneapolis, Detroit, Dallas/Waco, and several events right here in mid-Michigan. Contact me if I'll be nearby and you want to discuss ideas/events/programs for your group or team.

And until next month, Stay Timely!

Randy
