Form the Chain & Pray for Life!
Get Involved for Life This Fall!
Greetings!

40 Days for Life begins next week, and in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Shreveport, our efforts to pray and be present in front of the state's abortion facilities begins. Please sign up individually or as a church to save lives! If you are not near those locations, you can organize prayer or education efforts at your church or in your community. Contact us and we can help!

We need more communities to set a Life Chain for the first weekend in October (or another weekend) as a great (and simple) way to spread the pro-life message! Learn more and start your own Life Chain if there isn't one in your area!

Many have been asking me whether Louisiana will follow Texas' recent Heartbeat law. We want to pass whatever laws we can that will protect unborn babies! We are reviewing the law ahead of the next legislative session that will start in March 2022. Louisiana passed our Heartbeat Protection Act in 2019 that is slightly different than the Texas law, but it's stuck in federal court. The outcome of the Dobbs v Jackson Women's Health Supreme Court case (decision expected mid-2022) will likely be the ultimate decision on the future of all of our pro-life laws. Continue to pray for our Supreme Court Justices!
For a Pro-Life Louisiana,
Benjamin Clapper

P.S. THANK YOU to all those who have donated to our Ida relief! We have already helped 350 families with diapers, formula, and more!
Hurricane Ida Diaper Giveaways Continuing
in Affected Areas; Can You Make a Donation?
Hurricane Ida came through Louisiana and left a path of destruction. Louisiana Right to Life is collecting baby supplies and monetary donations to purchase supplies to be given away to moms and babies in need in affected areas. With your help, nearly 350 families received supplies during the first giveaways in Houma and Thibodaux! More giveaways are planned in those areas, including one in Galliano tomorrow.

PULSE Immersion Weekend for Students
In North & Central Louisiana Is Oct. 22-24!
We are calling all pro-life students in north and central Louisiana to attend our PULSE Immersion Weekend this fall! The new PULSE event is scheduled from Oct. 22 to Oct. 24 at the Grand Bayou Resort in Coushatta (north of Natchitoches). This will be an outstanding chance for students to be trained as leaders who can make an impact for life! Also, our Acadiana PULSE Immersion is scheduled for Nov. 5-7.

North / Central PULSE: Oct 22-24
Acadiana PULSE: Nov. 5-7

This year's 40 Days for Life campaign is Sept. 22 through Oct. 31, and vigil signups are now open in Louisiana! 40 Days for Life Louisiana vigils will be held outside abortion facilities in New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Shreveport.
Catherine Glenn Foster, president of Americans United for Life, will be the keynote speaker at Shreveport's 40 Days for Life kickoff rally. The event is at 6 p.m. on Sept. 21 in Memorial Chapel at Broadmoor Baptist Church.
Louisiana Black Advocates for Life is sponsoring a 40 Days for Life Prayer Crusade Sept. 22 through Oct. 31 in the Lafayette area. While there are no abortion facilities in the Lafayette area, we are asking you to join in and make your voices heard and pray for Black life, born and unborn. We ask that you pray with faith partners in your home, neighborhood, group, or church on one of the 40 Days.
We are remembering the life of a wonderful public servant and pro-life advocate Judge and State Senator John Saunders from Ville Platte, who passed away Monday. His dedication to the pro-life cause was strong for so many years. Our condolences go out to his family, and we are honored to be remembered by them in his obituary. Rest in peace, Judge Saunders!
Billboards are up near abortion facilities in New Orleans and Baton Rouge and one will be up soon near the abortion facility in Shreveport to inform women that they can reverse their abortions. These billboards, and other ads we hope to put out, will supplement the information that is required in the facilities thanks to the passage of the Abortion Pill Reversal Disclosure Act. Can you support this effort and help us get the word out?
Life Chains are held each year in communities throughout Louisiana as pro-life Louisianans stand along roadways in prayerful protest against abortion. We hope as many communities as possible hold a local Life Chain so that the pro-life message reaches the eyes of thousands of citizens! Please contact local pro-life leaders in your community and offer your assistance on a local Life Chain, or start one yourself!
The Proudly Pro-Life Gala will return to an in-person event in 2022! The event is set for Jan. 15 at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. State Sen. Katrina Jackson will receive the 2022 Proudly Pro-Life Award during the event, chaired this year by Kurt and Susan Crosby. Will you become a patron or sponsor today? Tickets are also on sale now.
The seventh Chers Bébés: Acadiana's Soirée for Life, is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 21, at Cathedral Hall in Lafayette. Last year's event had to be cancelled due to COVID restrictions, but this year the event will be back better than ever! Will you become a patron for the event as we honor Sharon Fontenot and Dr. Kim and Bonnie Hardey?
