"HandsOn" Campus Beautification Work Day
Saturday, November 17 from 8am to 12pm
Our school was selected to be a beneficiary of the 13th Annual "Day for Downtown" organized by the non-profit volunteer organization HandsOn Greater Phoenix. On Saturday, November 17 from 8am to 12pm, HandsOn will mobilize more than 500 corporate and community citizens in a rewarding day of service to benefit the downtown Phoenix community, and 50 of those volunteers will be coming to our school!  We will have 50 volunteers from Accenture and Unum to help us make some important physical improvements to our campus.   We  need approximately 20 parent volunteers to help  - please join us for a few hours to show our appreciation to HandsOn for selecting our school for this wonderful opportunity, and to help make our campus more functional and beautiful!  Thank you to Carol Hardin and Lisa Stevenson for their efforts in bringing HandsOn to our campus. Questions?  Contact Carol at CarolAHardin@gmail.com.
PUBLIC SCHOOL TAX CREDIT -
Make a Donation - Take the Credit.
It Won't Cost you a Dime!
If you must pay taxes anyway, why not help our school at the same time?  Arizona law allows taxpayers to make a donation to a public school and deduct the amount of their donation (up to $400) from their state tax bill.  It is called the public school tax credit, and schools use tax credit funds to pay for athletics, field trips, clubs, and extra-curricular activities.  By using tax credit funds whenever possible, we can put more money back into our budget for teachers and programs in our classrooms.  Last year our school raised almost $34,000 in tax credit donations, and this year our goal is to increase that to $40,000!  Please help by asking your family, neighbors, and friends to make their tax credit donation to our school.  Tax credit donations may be dropped off at the school office (until December 21), mailed to the school (must be postmarked by December 31), or donated online.  For more information, click HERE.
Book Fair
Monday, November 19 to Wednesday November 21
Do your holiday shopping early, and support our school at the same time, by shopping at the Biltmore Prep Book Fair!  Teachers will be taking their classrooms through the Book Fair in the multipurpose room during the school day on Monday, November 19 and Tuesday, November 20.   If you would like your child to be able to make a purchase, please send them to school with money in an envelope marked "Book Fair."  (Books are typically $3-$10 each).  Teachers will also be filling out a "classroom wish list" where you can donate a book for your child's classroom.  We will have parent volunteers and National Jr. Honor Society members helping the youngest students and will put their change back in an envelope.  If you would like to shop from an expanded book collection, please click HERE to go to our Online Book Fair from November 5-November 25!  All books ordered online will be sent home with students before winter break.  Parents are invited to shop on Monday or Tuesday in the multipurpose room, or on Wednesday, during lunchtime on Special Person's Day, in the breezeway by the front entrance gate.   We have expanded our Book Fair to 3 days this year, and need volunteers!  If you would like to help out at the Book Fair, please contact Jennifer at aznewmans@cox.net.   Thank you!

Catalina Island Marine Institute Fundraiser
Did you know that our 7th and 8th grade students have the opportunity to go to the Catalina Island Marine Institute each year?  This trip helps to further our students' understanding of marine wildlife and oceanography by experiencing it firsthand. Students will be dissecting, snorkeling, and learning about ocean geology.  Please consider making a tax credit donation toward this program now.  To make an online donation, click HERE. At "Program Preference" write: Catalina Island Marine Institute. Each student needs to raise $300. Questions?  Amy@chilipepperproductions.com.
Fundraising - Highlights
There are many ongoing opportunities to raise funds for our school that don't cost any extra money!  You just do your regular shopping but use gift cards or shopping reward cards that are linked to our school.  If everyone participates, the profits will really add up!  Every penny raised is used to help enrich the educational experience of our children. We are highlighting a few options each month so stay tuned!

Safeway Safeway Tile Logo
eScrip is Safeway's school rewards program.  Link your Safeway Club Card to our school, and we will automatically receive 1% of everything you purchase!  Anyone can do it - even friends and family who live out of state (the program is linked to Vons, Carrs, and many other grocery stores as well).  Go one step further and register your debit and credit cards when you eat at the many different participating local restaurants in the eScrip dining rewards program.  Just go to www.escrip.com, click on "about the program," then "sign-up," then follow the prompts to enter your Safeway Club Card number.  Note - if you don't know your Safeway Club Card number, you can call Safeway Customer Service at 1-877-723-3929 to get it.  Click HERE for more information.

www.ShopwithScrip.com.

It is so easy!  Click HERE for registration instructions.

Fresh & Easy. Fresh & Easy

The Junior Ambassador Program is for 4th through 8th grade students who are selected to participate in educational field experiences that include visits to Washington, D.C., a Phoenix Zoo internship, and exchange activities with students in Japan and Germany. The Junior Ambassador Program is raising money by collecting Fresh & Easy grocery store receipts - each $20 receipt is worth $1!   All you need to do is save your Fresh & Easy grocery store receipts and turn them in to the school office.
