July 5, 2024---
From the Rector

This Sunday is special, as we will have a baptism! Rainbow Amarachukwu Onweni-Buchholz, the child of Chidinma Onweni and Jacob Buchholz, is our candidate for baptism.

Rainbow was born on Good Friday (March 29, 2024) and will be baptized on her parents first anniversary! So it will be a special day for their family and for our larger church family. Chidinma, Jacob, and the godparents will promise to raise Rainbow as a follower of Jesus, to lead her to experience the love of God. We, in turn, promise to support this family, to love them, be there for them, take an interest in them, and pray for them. Raising a child in the faith is a big responsibility, but a joyous one. It is no less joyous to offer our prayers and support, not only at the baptism, but in the weeks and years to come.

Looking forward to seeing you all there on this day of joy and promise.

Education for Ministry is a great way to live into your baptismal vows, and grow in your faith.

EfM is a four-year small-group formation program based on study and practice in theological reflection. EfM helps the faithful discover the Christian tradition, bringing it into conversation with their experiences of the world. EfM seminar groups meet in onsite and online, all in person, developing theologically informed, reflective, and articulate seekers of God.

When you become part of EfM you join an international community of over 120,000 individuals (so far) who have chosen to live more deeply into their calling as lay persons (one of the four orders of ministry in the Episcopal Church). It's way more than Sunday School could ever be, but also less demanding than seminary! Give it some thought and prayer. If you are interested, contact Cathy Bailey (see ad above).
