HOUSTON - Council Member Fred Flickinger would like to make Kingwood area residents aware the Lake Houston Redevelopment Authority, also known as Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone 10 (TIRZ), in cooperation with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will be hosting an Open House for Kingwood residents and businesses to learn more about the Northpark Drive Reconstruction Project.

This informational Open House will take place at the Kingwood Community Center, 4102 Rustic Woods Drive, on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The proposed project would include the reconstruction and widening of Northpark Drive, from a four-lane roadway (two lanes in each direction) with 11-foot-wide lanes, to a six-lane roadway, that includes three 12-foot-wide main lanes in each direction, 1-foot-wide outside/inside shoulders, and 11- to 12-foot-wide left and right turning lanes. The proposed project would reconstruct and narrow the existing raised medians, and depressed grass medians, to allow for the addition of the proposed travel lane and turning lanes.

Council Member Flickinger encourages residents to attend where you will have the opportunity to visit information tables addressing specific areas of the project, ask questions of project team members, and submit public comments.

Written comments from the public regarding the proposed project are requested and may be submitted by mail, in any language, to the TxDOT Houston District Office, Advanced Project Development Director, P.O. Box 1386, Houston, Texas 77251-1386. Written comments may also be submitted by email to HOU-PIOwebmail@txdot.gov or Info@lakehoustonra.com. All comments must be received or postmarked by Friday, March 22, 2024. Responses to comments received will be available online at the web address listed above once completed.
