Miami for Recovery Month


Thank you to Attorney General Ashley Moody and Department of Children and Families Secretary Shevaun Harris who joined John W. Newcomer, M.D., Thriving Mind CEO and President; Danny Blanco, WestCare/The Village South Senior Vice President; Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Capt. Eric Hernandez; retired Boynton Beach Firefighter Luis Garcia, and Thriving Mind Peer Services Manager Derek Moore at Jackson Health System’s Ryder Trauma Center to recognize National Recovery Month.

Fresh Start CEO Honored



Congratulations to Sandra Baker from Fresh Start of Miami-Dade, a Thriving Mind network provider. Ms. Baker was recognized by the Circle of Brotherhood recently for "being an advocate on behalf of the behavioral health community and for her unwavering, selfless dedication to assisting others with developing five principles of wellness: hope, self-responsibility, education, self-advocacy, and support." Her plaque reads, "In recognition of her 40 years of Recovery and Service to the Behavioral Health Community by being a beacon of hope to those she has come in contact with to assist them in finding their unique and authentic self.”
