Registration is now open for 2024 Day Camp (VBS) at Advent Lutheran!

Advent is partnering with Luther Crest Bible Camp this summer to host Day Camp from Monday, June 17 - Thursday, June 20. Day Camp is a Christ-centered camp experience for children who have finished PreK-5th grade. The theme for Day Camp this summer is "Created to Be." More information and registration can be found here.

We need volunteers to help with Day Camp! Adults and youth who have completed 6th grade can volunteer as helpers. Please use the registration link above to sign up to volunteer.

Gift of Love: Avenues for Youth

Avenues for Youth has a Young Family Program that serves 24 parents (ages 18 to 24) and their toddler children by getting them into safe housing, and providing support so the family can become self-sufficient. Avenues has a 100% success rate in this program. We at Advent are supporting the Young Families program through donations of money and goods. Here is a list of needed items: The Young Families shopping list is here.

While specific brands are shown on this list, any brand will be appreciated. All diapers should be in sizes 4, 5, or 6.

Avenues uses Bridging to obtain beds and furnishings for the young families. Beds are in short supply so air mattresses are needed. A queen-size air mattress will accommodate the entire family.

There is a donation box for items in the church lobby. Thank you for your support!

First Quarter Gift of Love Update

THANK YOU ADVENT for your generous Gift of Love to CROSS in January, February, and March!

You gave $1,386 in monetary donations and 913 pounds of food, household, and personal products. Of that total, 477 pounds were collected towards the Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign. Your gifts helped provide food and supplies for the 3,976 households shopping at CROSS from January 1 through March 31, including 451 new households. Advent collects food and product donations for CROSS throughout the year in the grocery cart located in the education wing near Anderson Hall (near exit double doors).

Prayer

Prayer is our personal connection with God and guides us individually and as a church. It is a vital part of our faith life, and an important way we can continue to minister to one another. We know that God hears our prayers and will empower us to see God’s will in our lives!

Pray for our church and our world this week, for our community as we come together for worship each week and seek ways to live justly and safely together, and for all people on our weekly prayer list:

Jan N., Mary B., Pettie B., Barb H., Margaret, Terry M., Sue C., Roy, Diana, Elaine M., Chuck M., Jace L., Kate B., Morgan B., Dian W., Marlys K., and for all to be blessed by the Holy Spirit's faith.

We ask God to provide comfort to those who are struggling with health concerns, grieving the loss of a loved one, and/or experiencing difficulty in their home.

Pray for veterans and those serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, including Advent members Erik Strootman, Maren Strootman, and Luke Wallin.

(Due to privacy concerns and internet safety protocol, we cannot publish last names.) For confidential prayer requests, please e-mail our Prayer Chain leaders.
