A special program next week!
Please join us on Wednesday, October 28 at 7 pm for “Politics & Civil Rights: An Evening with Yamiche Alcindor.” PBS NewsHour White House correspondent Yamiche Alcindor will discuss current political issues facing America and share her experiences covering the 2016 and 2020 Presidential campaigns. Register now for this free online event!
Halloween is fast approaching, so check out this list from New Hampshire Magazine on “Where to Find Ghosts, Ghouls, and Scares in the Granite State.” Our office, on the grounds of the former NH State Hospital in Concord, makes the list of haunted places. Scary!
If you missed our last Humanities to Go Online program, you can catch up now on our YouTube channel. Dr. Meg Mott discusses the First Amendment to the US Constitution and explores the debate over free speech. What are the limits of free speech and who gets to decide?
Earlier this week, NHPR’s The Exchange discussed the upcoming election and answered questions about misinformation, absentee ballots, and other voting concerns in New Hampshire. Listen and learn how to vote safely and make sure your vote is counted in November:

Haunted Hikes of New Hampshire
by Marianne O’Connor

Don’t be spooked by these hikes! They are a great way to stay active, see beautiful parts of New Hampshire, and enjoy the Halloween season all at the same time. One North Woodstock hike from the book that I really enjoyed led to a downed bomber plane. Take a look!

(Mary is pictured here with her dog, Nash, who has accompanied her on many of these spooky hikes in New Hampshire!)
Today's the day!
