Donnalene Beardsley took the place of her husband David after his passing..Donnalene brings the same passion that her late husband had.
...The Legacy is managed by Heritage Healthcare Management Inc. which was formed by David Beardsley in 1984. Eagle LTC Investors LLC purchased the facility. Since then, it has undergone a major remodel including new flooring and furniture throughout the building. These wonderful changes bring the most modern aesthetics to the home.
...The Legacy offers a pleasant home environment, with wide hallways, private apartments equipped with their own bathroom and shower, 24-hour staff, pharmacy delivery service, medication management, assistance with personal cares such as bathing, grooming, and dressing, home cooked meals, daily scheduled activities, and housekeeping and laundry services.

Retail
Merchandising
Retail merchandising is the organization of merch-andise in an appealing way to get shoppers who come to a brick and mortar retail store to be en-gaged and inspired to purchase more product than they initially thought they would. A lot of retailers would be hard-pressed to answer the question, "What is retail merchandising?"

Calls Grow For A Polis Veto
A coalition involving 17 business, construction and real-estate associations is raising pressure on Gov. Jared Polis to veto a bill that would make Colorado the first state to give cities and counties a right of first refusal to step in and purchase apartment complexes under contract for sale. Over the past week, four groups and an alliance of myriad organizations all have written to the Democratic governor requesting he use his veto pen on House Bill 1190, which received legislative approval only after numerous amendments and over some bipartisan opposition. Polis, who has vetoed six bills already this year, has until June 7 to sign or veto all legislation passed during the 2023 legislative session or to allow it to become law without his signature.

Clock Ticking For Retirement Plan
The clock is ticking on Colorado employers who don’t now offer retirement-savings plans for their workers, as many must change their practice by February or enroll employees in a benefits program launched this year by the state of Colorado.
Legislators in 2020 approved creation of the SecureSavings Program, arguing that too many state residents aren’t putting away money for retirement and soon could end up costing the state $2.5 billion annually in public benefits from Medicaid to food stamps. The Colorado Treasurer’s Office has estimated that nearly 40% of Colorado workers – about 940,000 people — don’t have access to retirement-savings accounts through their workplace.
Treasurer Dave Young and his staff began sending out notices early this year to employers without registered retirement-savings programs that they either must start such a program or sign up to be a part of the state-run offering. The mandate applies to any company that has been in business for at least two years and that has five or more employees — fulltime and parttime combined — who are at least 18 years old.

Industry Gets Mixed Reviews
In many ways, the outcome of the 2023 legislative session for the health-care industry mirrored that of business in general: Employers fought off potentially stifling regulations, leading to heavily amended bills but little they could point to that may help them deliver better care.In all, legislators introduced 116 bills dealing with health care this year, ranging from potentially seismic shifts in hospital reimbursement to tweaks in behavioral health care. Gov. Jared Polis continued his five-year-long crusade to try to save people money on health care, though he clashed at times with hospitals, health-insurance providers and pharmaceutical firms over the details of his plans. The biggest impact of the session may have been to advance programs that Polis already has put into place as cornerstones of his health-care reform agenda. Legislators expanded the reach of the Prescription Drug Advisory Board (despite the two-year-old board not having considered price caps on any drugs yet), provided regulators more ability to limit the cost of Colorado Option insurance plans and killed a bill to study implementation of a single-payer health-insurance system that could have upended past reforms.

Economists Are Lukewarm
...Business economists are lukewarm on the economy. The National Association of Business Economists (NABE) regularly releases a survey of prominent economists where it asks them about their outlooks for the economy. The responses from their May Outlet Survey are interesting: Economists in “the latest NABE Outlook Survey are divided as to whether a recession in the U.S. is likely in the next year. The median forecast calls for economic growth through 2024 to be modest. Interest rates are expected to decline and inflation is expected to slow in 2024, while job growth is anticipated to moderate, and the unemployment rate to rise.” The NABE economic outlook is similar to ours at the Chamber. We see a slow economy in 2023 with a 65% chance of a recession this year.

Chamber Supports Decision
....Marty Durbin, President of the Global Energy Institute at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, issued the following statement regarding the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Sackett vs. Environmental Protection Agency. The U.S. Chamber Litigation Center filed an amicus brief in the case. “This decision on Sackett v. EPA is a victory not only for the rule of law, but for people who want to build things in America. Whether you are trying to build a house, a road, or the infrastructure necessary to move energy from one place to another, the tortured definition of “waters of the United States” advanced by the administration threatened to strangle projects with years of red tape. The Supreme Court has provided long overdue relief for companies and landowners across our nation.”

Have you wondered what it was like to travel the Overland Trail during the Colorado gold rush? How much could go on a wagon? How long will it take to get to Colorado territory? How much money is needed to homestead out west? What dangers and challenges will we face during our journey? All of these questions and more will be discussed at History Café on Wed., May 31 at 10:30 a.m. While snacking on muffins and coffee/tea, participants will enjoy a realistic look at the adventures and the perils that faced those traveling on this “super highway” that led thousands to leave their home and family behind and search for gold and land in the 1860s. This is the final History Café before taking a short summer break in June.
