INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY

International Youth Day is celebrated on Monday, August 12th. This special day honors the incredible energy and potential of our young people as they lead the way in building peace, shaping our future, and driving positive change.

Celebrate with PAL Center and friends at the Downtown Library TONIGHT from 5-7pm in Library Lot B (corner of Jefferson and Middlefield). There will be a bike rideout, food, resource tables, music and more. Please note that Library Lot B will be closed for the event and library visitors should park in Library Lot A or other Downtown lots.

Check out our staff reading list for International Youth Day that highlights books about community activism and antiracism here.

NEWS FROM THE FRIENDS

If you didn't know, the Downtown Library's roof is home to a colony of honey bees. Our beekeepers harvest the honey and Friends of the Redwood City Public Library resell it to the community. All proceeds benefit library programs. Friends have the latest batch of DELICIOUS summer honey ready! The bees produced over 80 lbs of honey, or 215 jars! Buy it in the Downtown Library Friends Bookstore, located in the lobby.
