Amity Children's Church

We've had such an amazing turnout in Children's Church at the Amity Campus! On Sunday, April 14th, we had a record number of 10 kids! Such an amazing time to experience with these children in worship. At Children's Church, we have phenomenal volunteers eager to serve. We would like to invite any children ages 6 months to 12 years to come to Children's Church and would love to connect with families and any interested volunteers.

You can email broell@boisefumc.org with any questions about or are interested in volunteering to serve Children's Ministry.

Food Pantry Needs

The food pantry is low on staple foods. Canned fruits, vegetables, cereal, soup, and vegetable oil are top priorities. You can drop off food at either campus or have food delivered to the Amity Campus.

We also need volunteers to help distribute food from 4:30 - 7:30 pm on Mondays. You can sign up to volunteer HERE.

NLI 2024 Registration is Open!

Are you wondering if NLI is for you as a member of Cathedral? It is! NLI isn't just for formal leadership, clergy, or lay ministry members. NLI is intended to bring hope, inspiration, and relevant, actionable lessons and ideas to anyone who wants to learn and make a difference in any setting. This year our speakers will talk about leveraging the momentum of hope in crisis, in encountering new territory, and making safer places for those who enter our church and home spaces. There will also be talks that directly address being a good leader in any setting. There is something for everyone here.

You can learn more about NLI 2024 at nli.cathedraloftherockies.org.

And now...

Dear friends and members of Amity,

In the book of Acts we are told that at the birth of the church Peter had preached and 3,000 were baptized. Then they made an ongoing commitment to each other:

"They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers."

- Acts 2:42

Over 20 years ago, I had a conversation with a pastor friend who at the time was leading a fast-growing, multi-racial congregation. He said he felt that more barriers were broken down over fellowship and breaking of bread than in his preaching and teaching. This was no self-deprecating remark. I had heard him preach and he was a very good preacher.

I say all this in the hope that you will make the commitment to stay after worship on Sunday for our communal meal. The breaking of bread and the fellowship are ways we have used since the beginning to build and sustain our faith and our faith community.

See you in worship,

Pastor Brian Thie (He, Him)
