Terry Parkman is organizing persons from the Carnes Neighborhood to join us as "Carnes Happy Hikers". Currently we hike local locations around Charleston, once a month, generally leaving from the Barn in time to arrive at our trail head at 10am and hike approximately 2 hours. Everyone is encouraged to hike at their own pace and simply enjoy the outdoors as well as meet their neighbors. We like to finish our hike around noon and enjoy lunch together at a location near the trail if possible. We are scheduled to hike again on December 15 when we will hike the Ravenel Bridge. We plan to leave the Barn parking lot at 0930. Lunch will be at the Charleston Crab House. Please email Terry at dmd_t@bellsouth.net

3rd Annual Christmas Eve Luminaries

When: December 24th (rain date 25th (rain date 31st)) 6-6:30PM

Where: Carnes Crossroads Neighborhood

REGISTER HERE

Luminary lighting begins December 24th between 6-6:30PM. If we must change the date because of inclement weather, an enewsletter will be sent along with a Facebook post. Packets can be picked up from the POA office between December 6th-9th.

Luminary Packets ($10 per 12 luminaries): Bag, votive, and candle included. A sand pile will be placed in the parking lot area near the barn and participants will take their bags to the sand pile to fill.

Luminary Lighting Instructions:

  • Fold the bags 1inch down form the top to eliminate flapping that could cause the bag to burn.
  • Pour 2 cups of sand in the bag to weigh it down. There is a sand pile by the Green Barn.
  • Raise the wick of the candle. Lower the candle into the sand in the middle of the bag. Embed the votive into the sand.
  • Line the bags approximately 5 feet apart.
  • Light candles between 6-6:30PM on Christmas Eve. If you will be away during this time, ask a neighbor to light your candles!

Let's light the beautiful streets of Carnes Crossroads for the Holiday!

An invoice will be sent to the email attached for online payment. Invoices are manually entered so please give time for the invoice to be sent.

Food Truck Friday

Thank you for your continued support of Food Truck Friday! This Friday, the food trucks will be in the pool parking lot 5pm-8pm. You can view the food truck schedule with menu links through the Carnes Crossroads Food Truck Schedule Link.
