Spring has Sprung


We are excited to announce the 2024 Yard Beautification Contests! Every home in Carnes will be entered into the contest, local Master Gardeners will vote on the most beautiful yards in the neighborhood. Our Spring Contest judging will take place the first week of May and the Summer Contest will take place the first week of August. Each winner (3) will receive an appreciation wreath and award sign from the POA, along with, a $50 Gift Card donation by the Carnes Crossroads Neighborhood Association.


Well-planned landscaping is recognized as an asset to the neighborhoods of Carnes Crossroads, providing a beautiful place to live. Maintaining and weeding your landscape beds and street trees are crucial for the neighborhood's aesthetic appeal.


Reminder, the responsibility of the homeowners maintenance extends to the road. If you plan on making any exterior modifications to your home, please refer to the Design Guidelines. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to the POA Office at 843-970-3417 or email lcollins@ccmcnet.com.


1. First a courtesy letter with a cure date to correct the violation is sent. 10 days to remedy or contact the POA if you need longer.

2. If the violation is not corrected in the time period stated in the initial notice period a second notice is sent. 10 days to remedy or notify the POA.

3. Non remedied violations receive a third violation notice and a $25 fine, with 10 days to remedy. If it is not remedied after those 10 days a fine is imposed at the rate of $25.00 per day.



Pool



The pool will open Monday, April 1st! Pool hours are 7AM-10PM, seven days a week. Gate attendants will be monitoring the pool 7 days a week starting Memorial Day weekend through mid August when school starts.

Gate Attendant hours: Mon - Thurs 10am to 8pm. Fri - Sun 10am to 10pm.


Resident fobs only allow access to the three entrances of the pool area and the restrooms. In order to keep outside traffic clear of the pool, please do not open the pool gate for anyone.

Please consider recycling the plastic eggs after the event! There will be a box in the barn throughout the event to donate the plastic eggs for next years hunt. We will also take recycled Easter eggs at the POA Office until April 5th.

Interested in joining a baseball league with neighbors?

45+ Hardball league starting up on Sundays @ Lucy Beckham High School (an absolutely gorgeous field) in Mt. Pleasant. Players can check out the website at www.cmabl.com and register or they can reach out to Robert Hubsmith directly @ (201) 704-7872 or by email rhubsmith@thejgagency.com. Information on the league, i.e. the schedule, teams, stats, rules, fees, etc. is easy to navigate on the site. The league will allow one player to be 43-44, but he will not be able to pitch. The games can be as early as 9:30AM and as late as 5PM. Games are 7 innings or 2 ½ hours, whatever happens first. It’s a recreational league at this point and players are competitive, but not super competitive as other area leagues.

Sanitation Breakfast

Help us show support to our public works sanitation team! The CCNA will provide breakfast for the sanitation crew and workers but residents are invited to join us in showing our appreciation by attending the event and bringing individually wrapped snacks or bottled drinks as a thank you to the sanitation workers to take on the road!

Andrew Brower current president of Dorchester Beekeepers & Gardeners will be delivering a short presentation on beekeeping and the benefits. Their club is composed of both beekeepers and gardeners. Spring Red Balloon Yard Sale

Where: Your Home

When: April 20th 7AM-1PM


Stop by the POA Office to pick up red balloons for the Spring Yard Sale! The red balloon is displayed at your home to show others you are participating in the sale and to make it a “community event”. There will be a brunch truck in the pool parking lot for all to enjoy and a local charity to pick up donations after the sale. The donation truck will be in the parking lot around 1:30PM-2:30PM. Please do not drop off items in the parking lot unless the donation truck is on site.

Welcome Mats and Wine Night

Join us in creating a DIY welcome mat for your front porch! Bring a bottle of wine and or snacks for your table. You can come to the event as early as you would like and stay and socialize for as long as you would like, but due to a limited number of seats and stencils, please choose a time slot you would like to DIY. The time slots are to help with the flow of the DIY Mat creations and use of table space and stencils. If you have a cricket or want to make your own stencil to bring, please feel free to do so. 


Tickets are $10 per person and there are 40 seats available.
