With the arrival of warmer weather, we are excited that more residents will be using the community pool. Whether you’re looking to swim laps, soak up some sun, or simply relax with a good book, the pool is a perfect place to do so. It’s also a great opportunity to socialize with your neighbors and make new friends.
To ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience at the pool, we have hired Pool Attendants to help manage daily duties. The pool attendants are not there to clean up after residents but rather to help maintain the pool so everyone can have a great time.
Responsibilities of Attendants
● Enforce all DHEC mandated regulations as well as the HOA rules
● Man the gate and ensure only residents with active pool passes are admitted
● If a residents does not have a fob or fob isn’t working, have them sign in. Residents sign themselves in and their guest including their name, address, and the number of residents and guests using the pool in log book provided. They must show ID and the address on the ID must be match one of the addresses on the list.
● Maintain pool area cleanliness by emptying skimmers and cleaning tiles periodically
● Arrange and wipe down pool furniture, put umbrellas down and keep deck neat & clean
● Neaten and stock restrooms. This does not include deep cleaning of restrooms.
● Empty and condense rubbish during their shift and at the end of the shift as well as bringing cans to curb on trash pickup day
The kitchen and storage room at the pool will be closed to residents. The decision to limit access to staff has been made for several reasons.
A. Property Damage: The area and equipment in the room was being misused and caused damage several times.
B. Cleanliness: Food and drinks were left out. The kitchen became a lost and found area resulting in old moldy water gear being left for long periods of time. Maintenance was spending a significant amount of time with daily cleanings.
C. Safety Hazards: The storage area contains chemicals, cleaning supplies, and equipment that can be hazardous if not used properly. Tools and other items are also stored in this room.
D. Liability concerns: Alcohol was left in the fridge several times. If a resident is injured while accessing the storage area, the POA could be held liable. Restricting access to staff only helps minimize the risk of accidents and helps protect the POA.
If you have any questions about the updated access information, please reach out to us!
Have a great weekend!
