Community Healthcare Workers & Healthcare Providers webinar series! This informative program is for you to learn more about Community Health Workers (CHWs) and the various advantages they apply to the community and health workforce. In the this program, a series of webinars will be conducted and hosted by speakers who are experts within the healthcare field and community health work. Welcome to Interconnected: Resilience & Wellness Program! Curated by Morehouse School of Medicine AHEC in conjugation with SPCC Atlanta AHEC and Georgia Statewide AHEC Network. 


The Interconnected: Resilience & Wellness Program is an educational tool for healthcare providers and health professions students to utilize in their journey of self-care while in the workforce or enrolled in school. The program highlights the importance of being resilient along with an in-depth explanation of the dimensions of wellness and how they are interconnected to resilience to achieve optimal health.


A combination of e-learning modules, interactive workbook activities, expert presentations, and an in-person reflection/networking event are all utilized to instill the necessary information for healthcare providers, students, and health professionals. This is a self-paced weekly module release program is to ensure you have time to apply what you learn. The modules are outlined below:

SCRUBS CAMP

Summer is near but Scrubs Camp 2024 is here! Want your child(ren) to experience a summer camp that provides hands on health related activities, tour college campuses/healthcare facilities, meet health professionals and gain mentorship? If so, look no further than the 2024 Scrubs Camp! Throughout this 5-day event, high school students from Georgia and surrounding states will be participating in various hands on activities that will focus on specific health careers. Scrubs Camp will be held at the following locations on June 10th-14th and July 8th -12th from 9am – 4pm: Hughston Foundation, Valley Healthcare, Columbus Technical College, Mercer University School of Medicine and Columbus State University.

K-12 OPPORTUNITIES


Three Rivers AHEC is sponsoring this great virtual panel discussion “Bear Essentials” alongside Mercer University School of Medicine. High school students from the TRA region will have the opportunity to ask medical students questions regarding their journey to becoming physicians and how to maneuver such in a productive way!

Three Rivers AHEC had a great time participating in the J.D. Davis

Elementary School Career Fair on March 7th. Students received information on numerous health careers and participated in a “Guess What Career” interactive game which created a fun, competitive and learning experience.


The Health Careers in Georgia Manual is a comprehensive guide to health careers created for all individuals interested in a healthcare profession.
