Easter Sunday - March 31, 2024

"This is the Night" - Come to Remember the Last Supper and to Learn what Communion is All About at 7pm this Evening

One of the most common things we do together as Christians is celebrate Communion. It is also one of the strangest and most confusing things we do. Where else in your life are you invited to eat someone's body and drink their blood? I hope the answer is nowhere!

Tonight at 7pm is Maundy Thursday, our yearly celebration of Jesus sharing this meal with his disciples at the Last Supper.

While the service itself is rich with meaning and opportunities to hear what the Bible says about communion, I will also unpack the logic of this meal for us during the sermon. My hope is that in doing so, we will all have a better sense of just what we are doing and why we are doing it when we hear Jesus' words to "take, eat, this is my body, given for you... drink this all of you, this is my blood of the new covenant which is shed for many."

Please also come to Good Friday services tomorrow at noon or 7pm and the Easter Vigil that will begin at sunset (7:30pm) on Saturday. Easter is a great celebration on Sunday (10:15am only). It is even more special when we take the time to walk to the cross with Jesus in the Holy Week services.

God Bless,

P.S. Our Archbishop, the Most Rev. Foley Beach, has shared a two-minute message for us this Holy Week and Easter. You may watch it here.

Good Friday Prayer Vigil Sign-Up

Prayer Vigil: Our annual tradition is to hold a prayer vigil to continue our prayers from the Good Friday service up to the start of the Easter Vigil. We seek to have a presence of prayer AT THE CHURCH and we ask you to consider giving some of your time in this busy season and even through the overnight hours to pray for one hour or more. Those that are out of town or otherwise not able to get to church are welcome to join us in prayer, and we are asking for you to also sign up. A prayer guide will be provided for those who wish to use it. Please use the following link to sign up for slots:  or contact Brad Johnson (bravhorn22@aol.com) for help or more information.

Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday

There will be an Easter Egg hunt for kids after our worship on Easter Sunday.  Meet in the vestibule after the service.  Please send a parent or guardian with young children.  We will provide bags for collecting eggs.

Coates Food Bag Assembly

Please bring donations of individual items or packed gallon bags by Sunday, April 7 for our next assembly and delivery. We have a special need for lunches and dinners that will fit in the one gallon bag. Questions about what to donate? Contact Sally Eckard (sseckard@verizon.net) or Bea Long (bduquelong@gmail.com).
