Chane's Swell-o-Phonic

celebrates 25 years

.....On Friday, Chane will be the man behind the t-shirt cannon as he celebrates 25 years of Swell-O-Phonic with a big party outside the store at Fondren Corner from 6-9 p.m. There will be a DJ, a pinata full of prizes, a huge shoe drop and 25% off all full price items.

.....The celebration actually starts on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with a sidewalk sale and give-aways throughout the week from Dickies, Karhu, New Balance and Vans. In addition, on Thursday Chane will announce a scholarship program for students at Belhaven, Tougaloo, JSU, Milsaps and Hinds. (Above photo by Tate Nations)

Test your brain - it's trivia time!

.....The Bean's first Trivia Night is Thursday and continues for the next 6 weeks. There's a $3 weekly buy-in per person with teams of 2-6. Trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. (Lowest score dropped so if you miss a week, you are still good!) Weekly prizes, too!

.....Gourmet hot dogs and bar bites each week along with drink specials on beer, wine and cocktails.

Raiders at The Capri plus: Eric Q & A

.....Don't miss one of six screenings of Raiders of The Lost Ark next Friday and Saturday at The Capri plus a special screening of the documentary "Raiders! The Story of the Greatest Fan Film Ever Made!" at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday featuring a Q & A with Mississippian Eric Zala, (11-years old when the movie production started) one of the Raiders kids.

Music in The Bean's Backyard on the 23rd

.....Don't miss The Bean's next Songwriter Round on March 23 at 7 p.m. 100%of the proceeds go to the artists. Tickets are $10 at the door.

Volunteers Needed: USA IBC

.....Volunteers are the lifeblood of the USA International Ballet Competition. The competition is scheduled for June 10 - 24.

....."We invite and value the support of friends and neighbors far and wide who want the USA IBC to succeed," said Fondren resident and Volunteer Coordinator Debbie Good.
