Kam Ngai's Zundo Ramen Bar opens this week on Duling

This week: Ramen comes to Fondren!

.....Restauranteur Kam Ngai brings authentic, contemporary Japanese dining to Fondren with Zundo Ramen Bar.

....."I was craving good ramen after having lived in New York," said Ngai, "I wanted to provide that same quality and authenticity in Jackson, Mississippi, the city I call home."

.....Zundo will focus on slow-cooked ramen, made from broths simmered for 20 hours and house-made noodles.

Green Ghost Tacos will open this week in its new location on Taylor Street (formerly Sal and Mookie's location).

Fondren welcomes new Precinct leader

.....Captain Jacquelyn Thomas has been named new Precinct 4 Captain, serving Fondren. She serves at the lead JPD officer for Precinct 4, a title previously called "commander," now renamed as Precinct Captain. She is a veteran of JPD having served most recently in the investigations department.

Fondren shines at Chamber luncheon

.....Last week's Greater Jackson Chamber Partnership's Annual Meeting recognized two Fondrenites during its proceedings.

.....Jeff Good was recognized for the Chamber's Lifetime Achievement Award.

.....Gabriel Prado, (left) CEO of PraCon Investment Group, had the honor of recognizing the two keynote speakers: Darren LeMarca, U.S. Attorney for the Souther District of Mississippi, and John Nicholson, Chief of Staff for the US Environmental Protection Agency, Region 4.

Cleveland noted for sportswriting career

.....Fondren resident and Mississippi Today sports columnist Rick Cleveland has been named Sportswriter Of The Year by the National Sports Media Association for the 14th time in his career.

.....Cleveland, who covered his first Mississippi sporting event at age 13 and hasn’t stopped for 57 years since, owns the state’s record for number of times having won the award.
