This Sunday is the Fabulous Fifth Avenue Street Festival

The Fabulous Fifth Avenue Fair is taking place this Sunday from 12-6 on Fifth Avenue between Sterling and 12th Street. Of course we'll be there out front and center in front of Bogota selling our ever popular empanadas. We'll also have outdoor seating where you can come by, hang out, have a beer or two and snap "Selfies" of you and your friends enjoying your time here at #BogotaBistro.

*Live music at Smith's Tavern, the Chip Shop, The Gate and 200 Fifth!

*Catch the kids from the Brooklyn Music Factory rock out on stage between 1st and Garfield, right near the Vintage Cars from the Antique Automobile Association of Brooklyn .

*Also, as some of you may or may not know, our friends at Cog and Pearl suffered a terrible electrical fire in their Fifth Avenue store, earlier this month. It was a big loss but they are working hard to salvage what they have left and to raise much-needed funds. As part of this effort, they will be taking the space in front of their storefront (190 Fifth Avenue) for The Fabulous Fifth Avenue Fair. Make sure to drop by!

The Shop Local movement has deep roots in Park Slope and the Park Slope Fifth Avenue BID makes a concerted effort to reserve as many spots as possible for local merchants and artists. This 'merchants first' tradition dates back many years and it gives The Fabulous Fifth Avenue Fair a unique, community feel making it one of the best street festivals in all of New York.

Coming Soon! A 2nd Restaurant
We are excited to share the news of our upcoming restaurant with an expected opening date of sometime in September of 2014. Nine years in the making, Miti Miti Taperia will be located just a hop, skip and a jump away from our current location on 5th Avenue. The name comes from the spanish slang for "half and half" ("mitad y mitad"). The menu will consist of small and large plates meant to be shared. The Miti Miti experience is meant to evoke not just sharing of food, but sharing of good times, laughter, joy, friendship, great conversation, and memories. Yes, the concept will be different but the values that have made Bogota Latin Bistro a popular dining destination both within and outside of the community will remain the same. Bogota Latin Bistro Owners Meet the President
"The harder we work, the luckier we get." This quote has been attributed to Thomas Jefferson among a few other notable historic figures and now we can lay claim to its truth. Bogota Latin Bistro's distinction as a "High Road Restaurant" and our commitment to our employees reached the halls of the White House and the ears of the President in late March. We were invited to meet and appear with him as he signed an Executive Memorandum on overhauling overtime regulations. Of all the great things that continue to come our way as a result of our commitment to ethical and sound business practices, taking care of our community, our employees and our guests, meeting the President of the United States has been the highlight of our journey and mission to bring to you great Colombian cuisine and culture in addition to beverages and drinks by an awesome staff who understand service and hospitality.
