Get ready for a night of Celtic tunes and highland games at Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem Pub!

Join us as we kick off our Celtic Music Festival with Piper Gunn at Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem Pub starting Friday night at 6pm, followed by an incredible lineup on the Elvin Hill stage including Emlyn Drake, Norðanfólk, and Whiskey on a Sunday {Floggin' Molly Tribute Band} playing until 11pm (or maybe later!). It's sure to be a night you won't forget!

Highland Games!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to toss a telephone pole end over end? Well, we hadn't either until we saw the Scottish Highland Games. Now we can't get enough! These competitions will last all day and include the Scottish Hammer Throw, Shot Put, Weight over the Bar, the crowd favorite Caber Toss, and more. A World Champion may even show up! You never know what will happen in Sherwood Forest.

Celtic Archery Tournament with Robert de Bowyer

Sherwood Celtic Music Festival & Highland Games proudly presents the Sherwood Archers!

This team of pros travels the country and world year round winning national and world titles and records. The video included is from Sherwood Forest Faire which runs weekends in March and April. Many of these archers will be competing at the Sherwood Celtic Music Festival & Highland Games.

Hawk Walk

Hawk Walk is an exciting add-on interactive event for the Celtic Festival! The Falconer greets the prepaid guests at the Falconry Stage, located near the King's Swing in the vicinity of the front gate. The Falconer, and small group of no more than 15, walk the grounds flying the hawks from the trees to the gloved fist of each patron in turn while they experience the historical art of falconry. Patrons will experience the thrill of a bird of prey interacting with a trusted human companion. The hour long experience ends with all patrons enjoying and meeting birds at the falconers stage, where they can share share their experiences in a relaxed setting before heading out to enjoy their festival day.

Hynafol

This November we are pleased to welcome you once again to join Hynafol in the Sherwood Forest Faire Grounds for a 5 Day Medieval Fantasy Immersive Experience.

During Hynafol you’ll have the opportunity to…

• Camp inside the grounds of Sherwood Forest itself!
• Join hundreds of other participants completely garbed in medieval attire for the entire 5 day event- no “street clothes” allowed.
• Become a character in our interactive and immersive experience that explores the world and has a direct influence on the larger story that takes place.

• PLAN FOR A BURN BAN! Bastrop County has issued a burn ban and we don't envision that being lifted before Celtic begins.
• Pets must be kept on a leash in the campgrounds. Pets found wandering risk being picked up by animal control.
• It can be tough to snag the perfect camping spot. Never fear though – if you have trouble finding where you want to go, just come back to the guard shack and ask for someone to help you!
• Do NOT line up on the highway prior to noon on Friday.
• Place the correct trash in the correct areas/trash bins (look for the signs).
• Campground dumpsters are for household trash only. No bulk items (pallets, broken tents, etc). If you need help with a larger item, contact Ray.
