It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of K9 Macie passing away. Losing such an important part of our BSO Cooper City family is never easy.

K9 Macie, alongside Deputy Covet, had a remarkable career. Macie was known for her work in locating missing persons and as BSO's first certified therapy dog.

During her career, Macie attended over 300 community events, responded to 1,118 calls for service, participated in 523 deployments, and conducted 346 demonstrations.

Rest in peace, sweet Macie. Cooper City will miss you always.

Know the Code

City Code has been amended regarding stopping, standing or parking on roadways.

As we look ahead to the new school year, parents, grandparents, and legal guardians who drop off and pick up students at Cooper City schools are urged to understand and comply with this Code change.

No person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle on any roadway within 1,000 feet of a public or private elementary, middle, or secondary school within one hour before the scheduled starting time for the regular school day or school special event or within one hour after the scheduled school dismissal time for the regular school day or school special event.

Please arrive at the appropriate time and help us keep streets safe by preventing wrong way driving as motorists sometimes use the wrong lane to get around stopped vehicles. A violation of this Code will result in a $100 citation to the vehicle owner.
