Notice of City Manager Agreement Negotiations

On Monday, May 6, a City Commission Special Meeting was held to discuss the City's next steps following the City Manager's resignation effective July 1, 2024. During the Special Meeting, the City Commission delegated authority to Mayor Greg Ross to negotiate a potential agreement with Alex Rey, a candidate for city manager during the City's most recent national search. Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday
June 1 through June 14
Consumers can purchase qualifying disaster preparedness supplies exempt from tax during the 2024 Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday. The sales tax holiday begins Saturday, June 1, and extends through Friday, June 14.

Happy Mother's Day!
It was a mystery at Mother's Day Tea! We took a trip back to the Roaring 20s to celebrate Cooper City moms on Saturday, May 3, at Cooper City High School. The event featured plenty of picture perfect moments, food, and a fun whodunit mystery game that was followed by prizes.

Kick It with a Soccer Superstar this Summer!
Cooper City Optimist has teamed up with Golazo Training to offer a unique opportunity for Cooper City’s youth to learn from the best while having a blast on the soccer field this summer.
This action-packed and immersive camp will run from June 24 to August 9 and provides the flexibility of choosing the weeks you want. All those who register, for any week of training, will get access to the closing ceremony on August 10.

And, here’s the kicker – on August 10 legendary Brazilian Ballon d’Or and FIFA World Champion Rivaldo will be on the field with participants!

Florida Licensing On Wheels - Suspended
We regret to inform you that the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles has suspended the Florida Licensing on Wheels (FLOW) program until further notice. The decision was made due to certain challenges the agency is facing with staffing and the need to allocate resources to other critical areas throughout the state.
The agency is actively working to address the staffing challenges and enhance its overall service delivery.
All those who had scheduled appointments for FLOW's visit to the Cooper City Community Center on May 21 are being contacted in order to be notified that their appointment has been cancelled.

Grant Opportunity for Cooper City HOAs and Nonprofits

The S.T.A.R.S. program (Safer Through Active Real-Time Strategies) directly connects your security cameras to the Cooper City Real Time Crime Center.
Through the City of Cooper City, there is now a grant program to help Homeowners Associations and nonprofit entities partner with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Cooper City District and protect your community!
This innovative Public-Private Partnership allows the BSO Cooper City District Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) access to live video to help stop crime and catch criminals.

Fingerprinting Services
Our BSO Cooper City District is now offering free fingerprinting services to Cooper City residents and business owners, with proof of residency or business required. Those wishing to have fingerprinting done at the BSO Cooper City Station must bring their own fingerprint card.
Fingerprinting is available by appointment only on Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to noon and Thursdays from noon to 3 p.m.
