Chamber Welcomes New Teachers To Shakopee

Shakopee Chamber members helped welcome over 50 new teachers to Shakopee Public Schools today! Hosanna Church hosted a luncheon for the new teachers to get to know our business leaders and start making connections within the community. At the luncheon, the Shakopee Chamber presented a check to Shakopee Public Schools representing the generous donations chamber members made to help teachers purchase school supplies for their classrooms.

Shakopee Foundation Updates

Through the HEART Initiative with the Shakopee Foundation, and in partnership with HEART Ministries, four scholarships were awarded to students at Shakopee Public Schools during week 7 at Rhythm on the Rails.



The Shakopee Foundation was honored to present a donation to Shakopee Public Schools for the Big Ideas USA VR work training stations as part of the 2023 Student Career Expo taking place on November 3rd.

2023 Sales Tax Law Changes


The 2023 legislative session resulted in a number of changes to Minnesota's tax code. The Minnesota Sales and Use Tax Business Guide has been updated to reflect recent law changes.

Registration Now Open For Annual Manufacturers' Summit


Join leading manufacturers and business leaders to dig into issues and opportunities facing this key sector of our economy. The summit will also feature two sessions, the first on navigating a new workplace landscape after a tumultuous legislative session and the second focused on the benefits of investing in automation. Solutions Needed For Metro’s Waste Management Challenges


The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) believes we need both short- and long-term solutions to the metro’s waste management challenges. To guide this work, their agency released a draft version of the Metropolitan Solid Waste Policy Plan 2022–2042. This plan will guide how waste is managed in the seven-county metro area for the next 20 years. Mi C.A.S.A. MN Announce Receiving Formal 501(c)(3) Designation


Mi C.A.S.A. MN (formerly known as Esperanza) is excited to announce receiving our formal 501(c)(3) designation in January 2023. The new name reflects our organization's continued dedication to establishing a powerful and dynamic Latino-led entity that provides invaluable cultural and linguistic services to promote social and economic equality for not only our beloved Latino community but also all underserved communities. The C.A.S.A. in Mi C.A.S.A. stands for "Comunidad, Apoyo, Solidaridad y Amistad” or “Community, Support, Solidarity, and Friendship” in English. Mi C.A.S.A.’s goals are to increase and promote healthy lifestyles through mental health awareness, healthy eating, and active living in an environment that promotes inclusion and racial equity while raising leaders from within the community to continue and expand the mission. As approved during the Shakopee Public Schools Board Meeting on April 24, 2023, Shakopee West Middle School’s swimming & diving complex will be named the Kathy Carlson Aquatic Center after the former Shakopee High School Swim & Dive Coach and community member. A ribbon cutting will be held at West Middle School on September 21, 2023 during a Girls Swim & Dive Meet at 5:45pm.
