This is a safe space for tough questions around politics, technology and our responsibilities as citizens. So pull up a chair, join the conversation and meet us as we search for a better way forward. Support Local Theatre AND our Parishioner, Hub Mathewson

Our parishioner Hub Mathewson has invited everyone to attend the upcoming play at the Barnstable Comedy Club. See the note from Hub below:

Three Spoiler Alerts:

1. This is a court drama about a prostitute defender who describes her kind of work in graphic terms, so it is for “mature audiences only”.

2. The Episcopal church is mentioned a couple of times, including the lines, "Your honor, they were married in a church ; an Episcopal church; the minister had green eyes, you never see an Episcopal minister with green eyes.”

3. I play the role of the psychiatrist trying to commit the defendant to a mental hospital. (A bit of type casting as well as a sharing my first name with the character.)

Cheers, Hub

Deepak Chopra's tips for financial wellness:

"It does not have to do with the amount of money you have, it has to do with how secure you feel with the money you have,” he explained.

Here are Chopra’s five tips for financial wellness:

1. Don’t spend money you have not earned to buy things that you don’t need, to impress people you don’t like.

2. Put away 10% of your income every month. “I did that since 1970, when I was earning $202 a month.”

3. Find an employer who takes care of their employees and offers benefits like retirement, disability and insurance. Work with friends and people you like; otherwise, you won’t be successful in your career.

4. Don’t ignore your body, mind and emotions. “If you have a healthy body, if you have good relationships emotionally and if you are a rested mind, you will make wise financial decisions.”

5. Make other people successful, which is the best way to be successful yourself. “I found in my career that if I could make other people make money, I would make money, as well."
