But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the leader of the synagogue, “Do not fear, only believe.” He allowed no one to follow him except Peter, James, and John, the brother of James.

Update from the Gardens

We had a lot of help from the professionals this week and the grounds are really looking great. The landscapers from Princi and Brothers, Detailed Landscaping were here in this heat working very hard. They cut-back and weeded and mulched all of our perennial beds. Vetorino's came in and re-graded our parking lot with fresh stone.

Garden Work Day

Our next Garden Work Day is scheduled for July 13th at 9:00 AM.

We could really use help keeping the gardens looking their best.

We also have a Garden Committee Meeting Scheduled for Monday July 15th

at 4:00 PM.

All are ALWAYS welcome!

Volunteer opportunities at Saint Mary’s:

Lemonade on The Lawn Season is Here

Yahoo! It has warmed up enough to switch from indoor coffee to having lemonade and treats on the patio instead. Lemonade on the Lawn is always weather dependent. IF it is truly nasty out, we will set up inside Walden Hall. We do not provide coffee in the summertime so please be sure to get your needed caffeine before you come to church.

Hosting the fellowship hour after our worship services is a great gift to our community. As host or hostess you and a companion provide store-bought or home-made finger food goodies for all to enjoy after the 10:00 AM service. There is also a Fellowship Hour scheduled after the 8:00 AM service on the first Sunday of each month.

It's all with the help of our wonderful Sexton, Lanny who assists with set-up and clean-up.

There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the sunroom. Click here for more information.

Garden Committee – Do you like working in the garden? Our garden committee is always looking for additional members and volunteers. This is our busy season and we need LOTS of help to keep up with all the happy weeds. Please contact Allison Bresette, our Garden Chair at community@stmarys-church.org

Office Angels – please consider a few hours a week or monthly working in the Parish Office answering phones and greeting visitors. If you are interested, please see Julie Remie, Parish Administrator (admin@stmarys-church.org).

Angels’ Treasures Thrift Shop – Angels’ Treasurers is seeking volunteers for shop coverage and help with our Social media presence. Please contact Janis Umschlag, Manager at angelstreasures@stmarys-church.org.

When it Rains it Pours!

As you all know, our little thrift shop is entirely dependent on donations. Janis spends countless hours each week chasing down good inventory for the shop at estate sales, on facebook marketplace, on the side of the road, in your homes, basements and attics. When there is an abundance of GOOD stuff she has to jump to grab it and then she has to find a way to STORE it. It is a constant challenge to keep all the inventory tucked away neatly and rotated through the store as space allows.

  • More volunteers are needed to help with these constant collection runs and storage shuffles.
  • Do you have a truck and a strong back?
  • Are you gifted at de-cluttering and organizing?
  • Angels' Treasures Thrift Shop could use your help!

FAIR-Board - Seeking FAIR Board Members

Financial Assistance in Re-entry on Cape Cod (FAIR) is a spinoff of St. Mary’s that aims to help men and women get back on their feet after their release from imprisonment. Many individuals in this situation have financial challenges involving such issues as regaining their drivers’ licenses, paying fines, and making initial rent payments. FAIR (www.faircc.org) offers low-interest loans to such individuals – loans that can make a significant difference to their lives and greatly reduce the chance that they will return to prison. We offer the loans with the understanding that recipients’ monthly repayments will ultimately help others in the same situation resume their lives after incarceration.

The non-profit, founded in 2020, is expanding its ability to assist prospective clients. To enable that, we seek new board members who can help the organization identify and interview loan candidates, organize fundraising, and liaise with partner non-profit organizations, among other items. In addition to participation in specific tasks, board membership involves a monthly meeting. Importantly, it provides an opportunity to give individuals second chances – chances that can be life-changing.

If you’re interested in helping us, please contact Jud Phelps, FAIR’s Co-President, at

marshset@comcast.net or 508 364-9035.
