A Prayer for our Community in Transition

Almighty God, you know the needs of your Church in every place: look graciously upon the people of Saint Mary’s and grant us the guidance of your Holy Spirit as we seek a new Rector for this parish. Guide the members of our Search Committee as they labor to be faithful in seeking your will. Inspire those who will discern with us, that each may be responsive to Your call. Give us wisdom and confidence in your timing, and in all things help us to seek the path you have set for us to follow. In Christ’s name we pray, Amen.

Outreach

Easter Collection Continues Through April 15, 2024

This year Saint Mary's Special Easter Offering is designated to support the Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza.  Click here to learn more about their critical work among the people in this war-torn area of the Middle East.

Miraculously, Ahli Arab Hospital has remained open throughout the months since the attack. It is the only hospital known to be currently operating in Northern Gaza, it has continued to provide critical relief to anyone who is in need of its services. As of late February, this 80-bed hospital was treating over 300 people per day.

Checks to support the Special Offering should be made payable to Saint Mary's Church, with "Ahli Hospital" in the memo field. All cash and non-pledge offerings collected will be combined and a single contribution will be sent to the American Friends of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem and designated to support the work of the Ahli Arab Hospital. We will continue to receive contributions for this special offering until April 15, 2024.

1891 Society

Why do Americans give?

Americans are hardwired to be generous. They find that donating time and money is beneficial to themselves as well as to those helped by the gifts. Philanthropy can help you: pass values to family members about wealth and helpings others; receive tax benefits while doing good; support your goals and keep engaged and informed about issues of importance to you. Philanthropy= Philo means loving and Anthropos means humanity.

If you are interested in learning more about how you can help St. Mary’s Church by joining the 1891 Society, please contact Linda Gadkowski at lgadkows@capecod.net or 508-292-5500.

CAPE COD REGIONAL TRANSIT AUTHORITY FIXED ROUTE FREE FARE PROGRAM: OLDER ADULTS AND PERSONS WITH DISABILITY

As of February 1, 2024, Older Adults (ages 60+) and Persons with a Disability can participate in the fixed route free fare program using their Charlie Card picture I.D., previously issued through the CCRTA’s certification process. Just show the bus driver your Charlie Card to ride for free!

Over the next several months, the Charlie Card will be replaced by the CCRTA developed "Go Card" for use on the CCRTA's fixed route system.

For existing CCRTA Older Adults and Persons with a Disability transit customers, the transition from the Charlie Card to the Go Card will be seamless based on the reuse of information and pictures from the CCRTA’s certification database to issue and distribute Go Cards for those wishing to participate.

For the new issuance of requested Go Cards for older adults and persons with a disability

following the CCRTA’s certification process, the CCRTA will work closely with the 15-Cape Cod Councils on Aging (COAs) and agencies that support persons with a disability to arrange registration sessions, which will be scheduled at multiple intervals over the course of the calendar year.

As always, there will also be an option to complete this registration process at the CCRTA’s Hyannis Transportation Center. Planned implementation of this program will take place over the upcoming months and periodic progress updates will be provided through information mailings; social media; and posted on the CCRTA’s website.
