School Supply Drive
August 1-21
Drop off new school supplies at either library branch during the month of August. Join us on August 22 from 1:00 - 3:30 PM at our Mastic Beach Branch if you are in need of school supplies for the 2024-2025 school year to receive a school supplies kit, while supplies last. Child must be present to receive school supplies kit.

Suffolk County Public Libraries Summer Tour
July 1 - August 31
Between July 1st and August 31st, bring your tour booklet with you as you visit any of the libraries listed in it. When you visit a library, find their wooden artifact and write what is in the space provided. Then show your booklet at the library's Summer Stamp Station to receive your stamp.
On the tour, you'll see new sites, explore new libraries, and have the chance to be entered into exciting raffles!
5 Library Stamps: One entry into a raffle for a $50 Barnes & Noble gift card.
15 Library Stamps: One entry into a raffle for a $100 Barnes & Noble gift card.
25 Library Stamps: One entry into a raffle for a Nook & $25 Barnes & Noble gift card.
Anyone who completes 25 library visits will receive a Summer Library Tour Patch! (while supplies last)
Once you hit each of the above milestones, show it to a library staff member and they will give you a raffle ticket to fill out.
To be included in the raffles you must show your stamps at any library by August 31st.
All raffles will be drawn on Friday, September 6th.

On the Road: Sandcastles @ Smith Point Beach
Wednesday, 8/7, 5:30 - 7:00 PM
Meet up with library staff on the sand in front of Tiki Joes at Smith Point Beach for sandcastles and warm weather fun. Weather permitting. This session we welcome a Sun safety station with info, sunscreen and goodies for the kids, provided by Stony Brook Cancer Center's Cancer Prevention in Action* (CPiA) program. Families with children entering grades 6 or younger.
*This program is supported with funds from Health Research, Inc. and New York State.

Family Fun Day with the SLED! @ Mastic Beach
Thursday, 8/8, 11:00 - 4:00 PM
Come and visit the SLED, a library on wheels! Play video games on one of the monitors, take green screen photos, or check out the collection of books on board. Also, we’ll have crafts and activities, sidewalk chalk and giant board games! Families with children entering grad 6 or younger. Drop-in, no registration required.

Walking Club @ Smith Point County Park
Wednesday, 8/7, 5:30 – 6:30 PM
Improve your health and relax with friends on an evening beach walk at Smith Point County Park. We will meet at the Fire Island Wilderness Visitor Center and will leave promptly at 5:30 p.m. Please wear appropriate clothing and shoes for sand and uneven terrain. Parking is free i the main lot. Park in the west end of the parking lot and then walk across the street to the visitor center. Open to all.
