FINAL WEEK!

Suffolk County Public Libraries Summer Tour

July 1 - August 31

Between July 1st and August 31st, bring your tour booklet with you as you visit any of the libraries listed in it. When you visit a library, find their wooden artifact and write what is in the space provided. Then show your booklet at the library's Summer Stamp Station to receive your stamp.

On the tour, you'll see new sites, explore new libraries, and have the chance to be entered into exciting raffles!

5 Library Stamps: One entry into a raffle for a $50 Barnes & Noble gift card.

15 Library Stamps: One entry into a raffle for a $100 Barnes & Noble gift card.

25 Library Stamps: One entry into a raffle for a Nook & $25 Barnes & Noble gift card.

Anyone who completes 25 library visits will receive a Summer Library Tour Patch! (while supplies last)

Once you hit each of the above milestones, show it to a library staff member and they will give you a raffle ticket to fill out.

To be included in the raffles you must show your stamps at any library by August 31st.

All raffles will be drawn on Friday, September 6th.

Tail Waggin' and Readin' Fun!

Moriches: Monday, 8/26, 4:30 - 5:30 PM Mastic Beach: Tuesday, 8/27, 4:30 - 5:30 PM

Children entering grades K-5 are invited to drop in and read their favorite book to a certified therapy dog. This activity helps strengthen reading skills while children gain confidence in reading out loud. Entering Grades K-5. Drop-In. No registration required.

Back To School Crafting @ Mastic Beach

Bubble Wand Craft @ Mastic Beach

Bring your little one for a fun baby play date! This is an unstructured meetup meant for play, exploring and socializing. Ages birth-23 months with an adult.

Japanese cartoons, a few Marvel moments, snacks and plenty of awesomeness. Register for each session.

Vision Boards @ Moriches

Wednesday, 8/28, 5:00 – 6:00 PM

Envision a happy and successful school year! Decorate your board to help you keep your goals visible all year. You can bring your own photos if you like.

Visit with a Therapy Dog @ Moriches

Thursday, 8/29, 4:30 - 5:30 PM

Drop-in to pet a therapy dog, tell a story or read a few pages of your favorite book.

ADULTS

Walking Club @ Smith Point County Park

Wednesday, 8/28, 5:30 – 6:30 PM

Improve your health and relax with friends on an evening beach walk at Smith Point County Park. We will meet at the Fire Island Wilderness Visitor Center and will leave promptly at 5:30 p.m. Please wear appropriate clothing and shoes for sand and uneven terrain. Parking is free in the main lot. Park in the west end of the parking lot and then walk across the street to the visitor center. Open to all. 

Beginner Painting: Flamingo Binder @ Moriches

Thursday, 8/29, 6:00 – 8:30 PM

Join painting instructor Linda and learn how to paint a flamingo on a 3-ring binder. All supplies will be provided by the instructor. Materials fee: $12.00 (non-refundable).

Senior Advocate @ Mastic Beach

Friday, 8/30, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM

A representative from the Suffolk County Office of the Aging will meet one-on-one to discuss different benefits and programs available to senior residents. The Advocate is available on a walk-in basis. No appointment required.
