This Week at Temple Emanuel

November

Mitzvah of the Month

In conjunction with Sisterhood, Temple Emanuel is once again proudly supporting Jewish Family and Children's Services Holiday Program.

We have been supporting this wonderful program for many years.  This program is not open to all JFCS clients. The family must be experiencing hardships and their counselor must feel they would benefit from the Holiday Program.

This year the need is great. We have opened our arms to a senior couple, a religious family of 7, and two teens transitioning out of the foster care system.

We need your help so that we can help these deserving people.

Details:

Gifts need to be turned in between NOVEMBER 16 AND NOVEMBER 30. The location for the drop off will be in Tempe, near the Temple. The address will be sent privately once you sign up.  PLEASE do not bring them to the Temple.

All gifts should be NEW, wrapped and tagged. Please wrap accordingly.

Our senior couple and family celebrate Chanukah. Our teens celebrate Christmas.

If you have any questions or to turn in your donations, please contact either Lori Selles or Barbara Raviol.

After using the "The Mussar Torah Commentary" this past year to excellent reviews, this year, we will be using "The Social Justice Commentary" as the lens through which we discuss each week's Torah portion.

Please Note: It is NOT necessary for you to purchase this book as we share the text on screen each week. However, if you would like to own your own copy, please click HERE to purchase your copy directly from the CCAR Press. (Please note that the book is also available digitally on Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play.)

So, grab a cup of coffee and join us ONLINE at 9:15am.

(Please Note: This is the same link we will use going forward for our weekly ONLINE Shabbat Morning Worship when we do not celebrate with a B'nai Mitzvah family.)

Saturday Morning Worship Service led by Rabbi Cookie Lea Olshein

Meeting ID: 881 7402 8792 | Passcode: Torah

During our informal and interactive Shabbat Morning worship, we will dig deeper into the meaning of our traditional prayers and liturgical music, while including modern, interpretative versions that will challenge our understanding of our tradition, as well as a short Torah reading. Each week, we will include a prayer for healing and recitation of the Mourner's Kaddish, in case you would like to share your personal prayers for those we love who are struggling and those we have lost.
