Message From Our Rector

Dear Beloved of God,

Wherever life finds you this summer,

I invite you to a "Slow Summer" in the spirit of Jubilee. Jubilee has been marked as a year of rest, freedom from what enslaves, fellowship in community, where even the ox was given time to rest and be restored. I invite you to look back. Way back. Recall walking barefoot on the grass in the summer sun. Worry less. Be more like that child again. Consider adding a bit of play into each day. It doesn't have to take much time 5 minutes to stop and smell the roses so to speak. Spend more time observing the wonder of this world and the people in it and give thanks to God! He had you in mind when he created it!

I welcome your ideas for slow summer activities. I am playing "Go Fish" once a week and working on a puzzle. As I do this, I am discovering that childlike joy - is still in there. I am also experiencing the liberty Jesus came and died for.

For His Sake,

Love,

Pastor Robin+

This Sunday, get a "sneak peak" of my art show getting ready to be shown at Emanuel Episcopal Church Art Gallery.

Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” Mark 6:31

Grace Garden!

Grateful for Lots of Hard Work & a New Look for the Grace Garden! Check out the makeover for the Grace Garden. It is beautiful! Please give thanks to the Building and Grounds Strategy Team. Colinda Friehauf and Sharon McKey selected plants that would be beautiful but require less upkeep.

This week, Ron Weeks, Steve Freemen, Mark Lehnhoff, and Sharon McKey spent many hours weeding. Thursday, they put the finishing touches to the garden with two yards of mulch to prevent weeds from growing. There are more yards of mulch to distribute. If you are willing to help, contact Steve, Ron, or Sharon to find out when they are doing more beds. There is still work to be finished in the front gardens. The Building & Grounds strategy team has been led by Fran Hammond.

The Bishop Suffragan Kai Ryan is Coming June 16th, 10:30

Join us on Sunday, June 16th, at 10:30 to welcome the Rt. Rev. Kai Ryan, Suffragan Bishop of the Diocese of Texas.

What exactly does a Bishop do? He or she is the chief priest (also known as the shepherd) of our diocese. Bishop Ryan as Bishop Suffragan of Texas visits churches, baptize and confirm people, serve as counselor to pastors and laity, preside at diocesan meetings, and take part in meetings of the House of Bishops of the Episcopal Church's General Convention.

Elected as Suffragan Bishop in 2019, she helps Bishop Andy Doyle do confirmations. When Bishop Ryan visits a church, she meets with the vestry and visits with other church leaders. As well, she spends time visiting with the people who are to be baptized and confirmed.

Please join us in welcoming our newest members!
