May Collection for NNEMAP

The St. Mark’s Outreach collection for the month May is band-aids, alcohol wipes, and Neosporin.

Outreach wants to provide first aid kits for NNEMAP.  Please consider donating these items so we can make first aid kits for our NNEMAP families.

If you would prefer, please donate $10.00 to Outreach and we will purchase these items.

Thank you for your continued support of NNEMAP.

Evening Knitting

The Evening Knitting Group will meet Monday May 13 from 6:30 - 8 p.m.

We meet in the Canterbury Center.

You can bring any project you are working on, even if it isn't a knitting project.

Upper Arlington Farmer's Market

Will be held on the sidewalk in front of Saint Mark’s on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. beginning on May 15.

Dorset Road will be closed on Wednesday afternoons and any cars parked there will need to be moved. Please plan on parking in the Tremont Center lot if you will be at church after noon on Wednesdays.

Saint Mark’s will be opening the building and having a hospitality table during the market, sign up if you want to help welcome people to Saint Mark's.

Pentecost Picnic

Pentecost is Sunday May 19.

Pentecost is one of the major feasts of the Church. It celebrates the descent of the Holy Spirit on the apostles and the beginning of the spread of the Gospel to the world.

It is the custom to wear flame colors, (red, orange and yellow) on Pentecost.

Following the 10:30 a.m. service, we will have our Pentecost Picnic. The Marksmen will be providing wonderful BBQ.

Sign up to bring sides and help with set-up and clean up.

Plan on joining in the celebration and coming back at 4 p.m. for the Canterbury Choir’s Evensong.

Canterbury Choir Evensong

The Canterbury Choir will conclude its season with a service of Choral Evensong for the Day of Pentecost on Sunday May 19 at 4 p.m.

Music will include the stirring Evening Service in C by George Dyson and anthems by Nancy Hill Cobb and Drummond Wolff. Admission is free. Donations will be gratefully received in support of the Gary L. Garber Canterbury Choir Scholarship Fund, which supports choristers’ participation in Royal School of Church Music summer camps.

A reception will follow. Please join us for this beautiful and uplifting service, and be sure to invite some friends!

Choral Matins

Sunday May 26 at the 10:30 a.m. service, the Saint Mark’s Choir will conclude its season with a special service of Choral Matins with Holy Eucharist.

Choral Matins, or sung Morning Prayer, is the morning counterpart to Choral Evensong, alternating prayers, readings and inspiring music. We are pairing Matins with a celebration of the Eucharist.

Music will include the stirring Collegium Regale Morning Service by Herbert Howells, responses by Joanna Forbes L’Estrange, and anthems by Giovanni Croce and John Stainer.

Please join us as we recognize the choir for its hard work this program year.

Supper Group

The final meeting of the Supper Group for this season will be Saturday June 1 at 5:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall.

Please join us for fun and fellowship.

Thank You

Thank you to everyone who helped with the Culture & Artisans Fair.

It was a wonderful day. The artisans sold over $9000 in total and no one raised less than $200.

If you have a yard sign for the Fair, please return it to the parish hall. We are hoping to reuse them for next year.
