Advice from the LCCC Learning Specialists

Our roles, identities, and environments have blended in new, unexpected ways. Our work, personal, family, and student lives are on top of each other. Our previously separate worlds are the same. This can create new stresses that need managing.

One tip for managing these worlds is just to think about the role you are currently in. For instance, if you are in a remote class, think, "I am in my student role now." Give yourself permission to shift roles as well.

Feeling isolated? Check out this video and reach out here. You can also contact the LCCC Educational Support Services by visiting Science Hall 150, emailing educationalsupportservices@lccc.edu, or calling 610-799-1156.

Mental Health Minutes from the LCCC Counseling Center

There is power in gratitude.

Each year, when the holiday season rolls around, we are reminded of the heartwarming memories associated with these festive times. However, it is unrealistic to believe that this is the case for everyone. Expressing gratitude has been known to be helpful mentally and emotionally, especially when figuring out how to manage the overwhelming feelings that can come with the holiday season. Pause and reflect. What are you grateful for?

Want more personalized advice? Find more information here and contact the LCCC Counseling Center: counselingcenter@lccc.edu or 610-799-1895.
