Student IDs
Student ID badges are used to obtain access to college services: the library, computer labs, testing center, etc. If you are not wearing a badge, you may be stopped and asked to identify yourself and your purpose on campus. You may be asked to retrieve your badge. You may be denied access to specific college services and/or activities.
In addition to discounts to area eateries like Back Home Bagels and The Red Tomato, student IDs can be used to check out library materials or access the Wellness Center. Students must be enrolled in at least one class to obtain an ID.
You will need to present a valid government-issued photo ID and your L#. All students should obtain a picture identification card from the Office of Registration and Student Records, located in the Student Services Center, room 122, at main campus, or the front desks at the Donley and Morgan Centers.
Click here for the upcoming schedule.

Fall Refund and Withdrawal Dates
Once registered for a course, a student is expected to attend classes according to the schedule assigned. If a student finds it necessary to drop a course, add a course or change from one course or section to another, the Add/Drop/Total Withdrawal Form must be completed and submitted. Failure to do so may result in failing grades or loss of credit. A student may add or change from one course to another only during the add/drop period.
For exact dates, reference the refund and withdrawal schedule. Refer to the grading policy section for regulations dealing with the dropping of courses.

Preferred/Chosen First Name and Pronouns
LCCC recognizes that students may use first names other than their legal first names to identify themselves. Please note that the use of a preferred first name does not change the legal name on LCCC records.
A preferred/chosen first name is the name a person prefers or chooses to be known by and have in LCCC’s systems and when conducting day-to-day business. The preferred/chosen first name does not affect the individual’s last name.
The preferred/chosen first name will be used in college-related systems (i.e. Banner, Canvas, and DegreeWorks) and documents as well as email communications, interactions and any processes in which names are used to address individuals, except when the use of legal names is required by law or LCCC’s rules, policies, and regulations.
To request the use of a preferred first name:
- Students can change their preferred first name in Self-Service BannerWeb on the MyLCCC Portal. Detailed instructions are available in the IT Knowledgebase.
- To the extent possible, changes will be reflected across LCCC systems within 48 hours following the submission.
A preferred/chosen first name is not a nickname and is not a legal name change. Students who are legally changing their name should follow the instructions here.
Questions/Concerns:
If a student would like to seek additional support or advocacy regarding this guideline, they may contact the J.E.D.I. (Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion) Center at jedicenter@lccc.edu.
