Advice from the LCCC Learning Specialists

Taking quality notes successfully in college is essential. The quality often makes a difference when studying those notes later.

Try to think about note-taking in three phases (PDA): pre-class (P), during-class (D), and after-class (A).

P: Review the readings, presentation slides, and other materials for that class about 30 minutes prior to class.

D: Be ready and focus on capturing the key points during class.

A: Review, organize, and reflect after class. What were the major points? What questions do you have? where can you find those answers?

For more tips, check out this video and reach out here. You can also contact the LCCC Educational Support Services by visiting Science Hall 150, emailing educationalsupportservices@lccc.edu, or calling 610-799-1156.
