Summer Office Hours

For the summer months through Labor Day, the church offices will be open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The church will be closed on Fridays.

New Spiritual Connections Book

The women's group Spiritual Connections will begin a new book on Monday, August 5 - Help, Thanks, Wow: The Three Essential Prayers by Guggenheim Fellow Anne Lamott. She writes, “I try to write the books I would love to come upon, that are honest, concerned with real lives, human hearts, spiritual transformation, families, secrets, wonder, craziness—and that can make me laugh.” All women are encouraged to join the discussion to consider and reflect. Meetings are the first and third Mondays via Zoom at 6:30 p.m. Contact Ellen Endslow at eendslow@verizon.net with questions or to obtain the Zoom link.

August Lectio Divina

Lectio Divina is an ancient, prayerful method of reading Scripture and all are invited to give it a try this summer. Our next session will be Sunday, August 11, starting at 8:00 am in Room 214. Come early for this time of prayer then stay for coffee and worship. Whether you have prayed using this method before or it is new to you, our prayer is that opening yourself to the presence of God through Scripture, silence, and community will enrich your walk with the Lord. All are welcome. Talk to Sara Pantazes with any questions.

Thursday First Pres Prayers

This Month’s Prayer:

Dear God, in times of fear and profound division, we thank you for being the Lord in whom all is held and known. Help us to follow you by being salt and light in amongst our neighbors, in our work, and throughout our community. Help us work for a safe, compassionate, and just nation without tearing down those with whom we disagree. In your church, let there be a third way: not of human power, but a body of people committed to one another and to you in humble service. We pray this in Christ’s name, Amen.

Each week we pray for our congregation at 12:00 pm on Thursdays.

Set an alarm or schedule it in your calendar to join us! You don’t need to only pray for the topic of the week, but you can continue to pray for previous topics as well or anything that God lays on your heart.
