These three letters are a remarkable glimpse into the life of the early church at a time in which they were experiencing division. St. John the Elder instructs the church to live in the way of love–he goes so far to say that, “ God is love.” We will be going through these relatively short letters verse by verse and try to apply this timely word from God to our own lives in this divisive and difficult season in our nation and the world.

First Church is excited to announce a return to our mission of planting new churches as part of our Grow Campaign. We believe God has called us to bring a new church community to Beulah, and we are eager to see the fantastic work He will accomplish there. We invite all interested in joining the Beulah Core Group to a meeting on September 5, 2024, at 6:00pm at Pastor Brandon’s house. Your involvement can help shape this transformative journey and significantly enrich the spiritual life of the Beulah community. If you are interested in joining this unique and exciting venture, please email BBures@FUMCPensacola.com for more information and to get the address. God is moving in incredible ways, and we would be thrilled for you to join this dynamic new church plant! Come and be part of something extraordinary!

Stephen Ministry - Information Dinner
Sunday, September 8 | 5:00 - 6:00pm | The Wright Place - Dining Hall
Register HERE
Do you want to learn about becoming a Stephen Minister? Join us for an Information Dinner and meet the Stephen Leader Team that will begin training Stephen Ministers in September. Stephen Ministers are congregation members very well trained and supported by Stephen Leaders. Stephen Minister training is an enriching, enjoyable, spiritual experience. It will provide Stephen Ministers with a high-quality level of emotional and spiritual care to share with people experiencing a wide range of life difficulties. People typically become Stephen Ministers out of a desire to help others, but along the way, they find that they experience tremendous growth themselves–personally, spiritually, and relationally. Care Receivers are people—congregation members and others in the community—who receive care from a Stephen Minister. These are people struggling through a difficult time in life—experiencing grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, or some other life crisis. If you feel led to learn the details of becoming a Stephen Minister, please register and join us for our Information Dinner.

Commit this season to reading scripture each day. It's good practice. If you don’t already have a daily devotion, the scriptures below are designed to expand the range of biblical reading in worship and personal devotion. You can find them in the bulletin each week. The Daily Readings are taken from “The Daily Office Lectionary” in The Book of Common Prayer. Read the Bible each week. It will be a blessing.
