Venture Crew 12 Invites You on a
"Grand Canyon of the East" Camping Trip
|
Monday, August 7 to Wednesday, August 9
Would you like to go on an exciting camping trip with your church friends and members of Venture Crew 12? Would you like to learn more about camping skills and how to minimize our impact on the environment? Would you like to learn more about Venture Crew 12?
We have been on many adventures and would like to help other people enjoy similar opportunities. You are welcome to join us on the next Crew 12 trip, which will feature hiking and camping in Letchworth State Park, about 30 miles south of Rochester, NY. We will see some spectacular waterfalls formed by the Genesee River. The more adventurous could hike the Gorge Trail, which is 5 miles long and follows a series of waterfalls. The roaring sound of the nearby Genesee River will gently lull us to sleep at night. You will discover why it is called the "Grand Canyon of the East."
We have plenty of tents and other equipment to loan out if necessary. If you are experienced campers, you are welcome to bring your own tents. We will bring stoves to demonstrate various cooking techniques, so we can prepare communal meals for all to enjoy. Campground, food, and transportation costs will be shared.
Please contact Dick Clarke for more details:

Pilgrim Lodge, Here they come!
|
Last week,
Pastor Will
and
Sydney Turner
accompanied
Emma
and
Grace Tscherne
and
Zach Gorham
on a 4-day stay at Pilgrim Lodge in Maine to participate in Faith Foundations, a summer church camp, where they learned how to build and participate in community, how to rely on friends and community when parents aren't there, and where they gained a deeper appreciation for God's glorious creation!

Dear Plymouth Church Family,
Thank you to everyone! You have been a great source of comfort and strength to us during this very difficult time. Your willingness to display the Ghost Bike at the church was a gift to our family. It helped us to have a place to keep Gene's memory present and meaningful. The bike now has a new home. It will be placed at the Lincoln Police Department as a memorial to all fallen people in the town of Lincoln. It will be a visible reminder to share the roads for safety to all. The bike will go up some time in August. If you are in the area, please take a minute to stop by and visit it. We are truly blessed to be part of such a loving community.
Blessings to all,
Patrice and Patrick

Bell Choir Seeks
New Ringers
|
The Bell Choir is looking for a few new players. We have heard folks say they would love to try. So, we ask, "What's stopping you?" It might be tricky at first, but, like anything else, you'll get the hang of it. We are a fun group, meeting every Wednesday, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., in the balcony. Talk to anyone in the Bell Choir, or drop in any Wednesday night. Just let Dean Arvidson know you're coming (508.879.4246), so we can plan on working with you. We look forward to seeing you!

Church World Service School Kits
|
Please use the back-to-school sales for items needed for CWS School Kits. Each year we try to send 80 to 100 kits. We need: Spiral-bound notebooks, Rulers, 24-count crayons, Pencils, and Blunt-end scissors. Donations may be left in the Outreach baskets by the lower elevator. Do you sew? Kits and instructions to make bags are available, also in the Outreach baskets. For more information, please see Leona Dalton.

Do you need some help around the house? I am available again this summer to help you with any of your odd jobs: weeding, hauling trash, cleaning the attic, walking the dog, watering the garden, setting up for a party, and much more. Please give me a call, at 508.395.1510, if you would like some help this summer. Reasonable rates. References available on request.
Thank you, Nick Turner
