The Westin Anaheim Resort Celebrates Halloween with their Haunted Orchard

For the full month of October, hotel guests and visitors alike are encouraged to dress up and post a photo to Instagram at the hotel, tagging @westinanaheim and #westinanaheim, for a chance to win a 1-night stay. Children may also celebrate the magic of Halloween with special themed arts and crafts activities. Specifically, on Saturday October 28^th through Tuesday October 31^st, children in costume can make their way through seven different stations along the trick-or-treat trail for sweet treats. Villains Brewing Southern California Winner

Great American Beer Festival

Great American Beer Festival took place Sept. 21-23 in Denver with more than 2,033 breweries participating. Brews were judged in 99 beer categories across 175 beer styles and 250 judges evaluating 9,298 beers. Gold, silver and bronze medals went to 263 breweries. In the American-Style Lager Saca La Bolsita from Villains Brewing Co. brought home the Bronze to Anaheim.

Legislation Spotlight: Governor Signs Bill Requiring Employers Provide 5 Paid Sick Days

Last week, Governor Gavin Newsom signed SB 616 by Senator Lena Gonzales (D-Long Beach) into law, requiring employers provide 5 paid sick days for workers each year. Under SB 616, employees may roll over up to 5 paid sick days per year, and an employers' cap on paid sick days accrued by a worker may be no less than 10 days. SB 616 takes effect January 1, 2024. The California Chamber of Commerce had designated SB 616 as a job killer bill due to the 66% increase in paid sick days required by this bill.
