Chamber Supports SB 592 (Newman) Protecting Employers Relying on DLSE Guidance 
The Anaheim Chamber of Commerce has joined in support of SB 592, authored by Senator Josh Newman (D-Fullerton) and sponsored by the California Chamber of Commerce, the California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the California Asian Chamber of Commerce. SB 592 protects employers from being fined by a court if that employer acted in good faith in reliance on guidance from the State Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE). The bill also requires the State Department of Industrial Relations to translate its web site into Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Tagalog, by 2026. 
U.S. Adds 311,000 Jobs in February
Higher Than Economists’ Projections 

U.S. employers added 311,000 jobs in February, higher than the projection of 208,000 jobs. Despite this, unemployment moved slightly higher from 3.4% to 3.6% due to more people seeking jobs. The three industries adding the most jobs were leisure and hospitality, retail and health care, and government. This strong job growth will likely result in another interest rate increase this month by the Federal Reserve of 0.50% (rather than the expected 0.25%), in an effort to combat high inflation.
