HOLDEN DAYS PLAN 2024

Thank you to all who participated in our Holden Days reimagining and brainstorming sessions. As a result, we have established six main areas of involvement, each with a point person – FOOD (Chris King), YOUTH (Steve McKinley), FAMILY PLAY AREA (Robyn Dugan) , MUSIC (Megan Rokicki), CORNER SHOP (Lisa Tilander) and FACE OF FCCH (Amy McKinley). There will be space for tables for other vendors as well. Most notably, there will be NO big yard sale this year. If any of these areas appeal to you and you’d like to be a part, please contact the point person. See Sundays insert with specific duties and timeslots to sign up. We will need everybody, including “you!”, to make it a success. PLEASE FILL OUT THE INSERT indicating how you might help and place it in an Offering Plate on your way out.

Women’s Book Group- Next meeting June 4

Read up and join our discussion of the book Beautiful Country by Qian Julie Wang on Tuesday, June 4 at 4:00pm in the library

In Beautiful Country, Wang writes about the hardships that she and her parents faced upon their arrival to the United States in 1994, as undocumented immigrants from China. She discusses the numerous challenges she faced of growing up in poverty, and how she emerged from all of it with her dreams intact. It is also a story of resilience and hope.

Summer FIRE PIT FRIDAYS are back!!

On Friday nights this summer (late June, July & August) we will be gathering at various member’s homes for food, fun and fellowship around the fire. Everyone and all ages are welcome, friends too. Fire and stuff for smores will be provided, everything else you bring – lawn chairs, bug spray, beverages, snacks to share, etc. These gatherings will go from 7-10pm (roughly), drop in and out anytime. We will have a short 5-10 minute devotional – a song, a thought, a prayer – led by the pastors and others just before sunset (7:45ish) and the rest of the time will just be hanging out. We need people with fire pits to host and there is a signup sheet outside the vestry where you can sign up. Please see Pastor John if you have any questions.

Share Your Musical Gift This Summer

There is a lot of musical talent in our church and we welcome and encourage you to share that with us this summer as the choir takes a little break – sing a solo or duet, play an instrument, etc. There is a sign up sheet downstairs.

See Bridget if you have any questions or would like some help.

feedback@fccholden.org

Our goal for the Sunday worship service is to “honor God and engage people”.  We welcome your feedback and comments anytime – what really ministers to you, what doesn’t; things we might add, things we might cut, song suggestions, sermon comments or topics, do you feel welcome, supported, ways we could improve, etc., etc. Talk to us in person or send your feedback to feedback@fccholden.org. Bear in mind we are a diverse group, which means a lot of give and take in love (which really honors God), but the more we hear from you the more we can help reach our goal.
