Newcomers' Class & Lunch on April 21

Interested in learning more about FPC? Then plan to join Pastor Juli for our Newcomers’ Class on April 21 after worship from 12-1pm in the Library. Please RSVP to Pastor Juli so she has an accurate head count for lunch.

Take the CAT Today!

Session has re-engaged the Holy Cow! Consulting firm to administer a Presbytery sponsored congregational survey tool called the CAT (Congregation Assessment Tool). FPC's initial CAT was conducted in 2016 with a follow-up in 2019. The Presbytery advises congregations to conduct a new one every three years, so we are in need of a refresh. The Presbytery will provide a facilitator who will interpret the results for us.

This assessment will provide a clear picture of who we are as a church and what directions are most important for our future. The "CAT scan" will provide key indicators of our congregational health along with areas of challenge and potential growth. It will help us to collect and understand the range of views that exist at Fairlington Presbyterian Church and the possibilities, willingness, capacity and energy for moving our ministry into the future.

Use the button below to complete your survey by April 25.

NOTE: If there is only one email address for all members of your household, it may be tempting to have one person take the survey on behalf of the family. However, please be sure your spouse and all young adults living in your home have an opportunity to complete the survey. INDIVIDUAL INPUT is key to our gaining insight into overall perceptions and experiences.

Please set aside enough time to answer all the questions in one sitting. This will take about 30 minutes. All survey responses are strictly anonymous.

Thank you for your willingness to be a part of this congregational assessment and for helping to build FPC's future.

Learn about VOICE from Clarendon Presbyterian Leaders on April 28

The Session and Deacons have made it a priority in 2024 to learn more about how engagement with VOICE (Virginians Organized for Interfaith Community Engagement) could strengthen our mission and ministry. We have invited members of the VOICE Core Team at Clarendon Presbyterian to share their experience with us during the 9:30 education hour on April 28. Come hear about their efforts, in coordination with VOICE, to gain funding for afterschool programs in response to the overdose deaths at Wakefield High School, and their proposal for building affordable housing with LBGTQIA+ seniors in mind.

Showing Up for VOICE Action!

150 people showed up to represent VOICE at the April 11 meeting with City of Alexandria Council member Alyia Gaskins to ensure that affordable housing funding is included the FY25 Budget. FPC was well represented by Pastor Blair, Jennifer Bretsch, Bryce Ferrell, Melanie Hansen, Gary Hughes, Pastor Juli & Norman Kim-Senior.
