Last month, BPS students in grades 3-8 celebrated the 2022-2023 Sunshine State Young Readers Award (SSYRA) titles during the Student Literacy & Media Showcase (SLAM) events. Some schools took their students to neighboring and feeder host schools while some hosted the exciting event at their home school. Students participated in book discussions, worked on design challenges, performed reader’s theater, and played trivia, matching games, and Hedbanz.
The SSYRA program is a statewide reading motivational program for students in grades 3-8 that encourages students to read independently for pleasure.
