Featuring Items From A Restored Multi-Generational Farmhouse on the Shore of Lake Champlain

​Every now and then in this business you get into a house and see the layers accumulated by multiple generations. This Saturday our sale epitomizes that with many items coming from an old family home on the shore of Lake Champlain.

At first glance it looked like another meticulously restored farmhouse with Vermont Art dotting the walls and fine handmade furniture throughout. However, upon further investigation we learned the property had been in the same family for generations, and with no local family member left to take care of it all was being sold. 

As we dug through the outbuildings and attic the "layers" of modern decor gave way to vintage material and collectibles, which in turn covered up country antiques and furniture from old relatives who originally settled the property. The result is a fun sale which screams diversity with a little bit of everything for all tastes and budgets.

HOW IT WORKS

-On Saturday, February 11, at 9:00 am we will be releasing prices on the pictures below on this website. The sale will run from 9:00 am. to 4:00 pm. just like a regular estate sale. At 4:00 pm the sale will end, and pictures will be taken down. (As a reminder we know people are using a variety of different devices to view the sale so you may need to refresh your browser often).

-Prices will appear in the caption box under the items when we publish our website at 9:00 am. Saturday morning.

-Items will be sold to the first person who responds via email to kyle@vermontestateservices.com. There will be no holding items. All sales are final. 

-Responses must include the item number, brief description, PRICE, buyer's name, and a contact phone number. SAMPLE: John Smith (802) 876-7120 --H-102 Lamp $50. PLEASE ONLY SEND EMAILS ON ITEMS YOU WANT TO PURCHASE. If you are a dealer on record with us and tax exempt, you must state that in every email or you will be charged sales tax.

-Successful buyers will be sent an invoice via email. Most invoices are sent out within an hour but earlier in the day it may be a few hours before we are able to catch up - please be patient. Occasionally invoices may end up in a spam folder, please check those often.

-Payment Methods: Credit Card (via Square) is preferred. If you would like to pay via check or cash, please contact us prior to bidding (we do not have a problem accepting cash and checks but need to know for our billing software).

-You will only be contacted if you were successful (we wish we could respond to everybody immediately but with 800-1200 emails per sale we haven't progressed that far technologically yet). We have heard of some emails going to spam folders using the Square processing system so please check all your folders.

 -Yes, buyers may submit more than one "commitment to purchase" on a single email. Please note: as an example - if you submit a "commitment to purchase" on five items at 9:05 am, but somebody already purchased two of the items at 9:01 am, you will get the three items that have not previously been purchased. 

-We will make every attempt possible to remove pictures of items after they have been purchased but expect a little lag time for technical reasons, especially in the first few hours.

-Purchases must be paid for immediately. Our software allows us to see who has viewed invoices. 

-Items MUST picked up within 48 hours at our storage facility in Essex. PICK-UP IS CURB-SIDE ONLY. There will be three pickup windows for this sale. Saturday, February 11, from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm, Sunday, Feb. 12, from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm, and Mon. Feb. 13, from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm. At pickup, please present your receipt to one of our staff members, and the items will be made available to you. Buyers will be expected to load their purchases (bring your own packing material and help if you purchase furniture). If multiple vehicles are picking up at the same time, please stay in your vehicle and we will assist you when it is your turn.

-We take a commitment to purchase seriously. In the event someone does not pick up an item they have purchased in the designated time frame, or does not pay for an item, they will not be allowed to participate in future sales, either online or onsite.

-We will try to do our best to answer questions about items prior to the sale (we will not disclose prices). Please email or call our office at (802) 876-7120 during business hours Thursday or Friday if you have questions. We have a few limited windows available for in-person inspection by appointment only. Please contact us directly.

-We have tried to include pertinent information in the picture captions about the items, this includes what we were told about mechanical items (last time they were used, etc.). If an item says "untested" it means, we believe the item is in working condition but have not tested it. Note: items such as ruler, plate stands, etc. are in photos for display only and not included in purchase.

-Pickup/ Inspection Location: 12 High View Drive in Essex. From Rte. 2A turn onto Gentes Rd. proceed over the bridge and at the "Y" bear right onto Lamore Rd. In 100 yards High View Drive will be on your left. We are the first left on High View Dr. and signs will be up directing you to the pickup area. 

-Sales Tax: As per Vermont laws this sale qualifies as a multi-owner sale, so a 6% sales tax will be charged. If you have a Vermont tax-exempt certificate, we are happy to add you to our file. If you are already on-file with us, YOU MUST mention you are a dealer in EVERY email or you will be charged sales tax.

-Firearms will be sold in strict adherence to FFL regulations. Transfers to non-FFL license holders will be conducted by Datillios in South Burlington after the sale.

-Bonus Lots: In our online format we try to emulate the on-site experience as much as possible. We know there are many people who prefer to come to a sale later in the day or check back often to see what may have been "discovered" in a hidden cabinet, or under a mattress. To simulate that experience we will add 10-20 unadvertised "bonus" lots to the sale throughout the day so check back often. 

-Depending on what remains late in the day, we may decide to adjust prices on some items. We do not guarantee this and will review it on a case-by-case basis. If we make this decision adjusted prices will be posted. Please do not submit offers. 

We take failure to pick-up and pay for items very seriously. If you cannot pay immediately or pickup in the designated window times do not participate. 

We pride ourselves on being a family business. Our goal with our online sales has always been to give our customers a taste of the same experience they would experience were we to conduct the sale onsite. We truly appreciate all who participate and enjoy the process.
