Summer of Imagination: Adventure at your Library begins June 1

Summer of Imagination, presented by Bellco Credit Union, returns to Aurora Public Library as "Adventure Begins at Your Library." Participants in the summer reading program receive a free book, while supplies last, when they register beginning Saturday, June 1.

After registering, participants can grab a passport from any Aurora Public Library branch to begin their adventure. Participants can then turn in their passport at any library branch for a chance to win a prize. Raffle prizes will be drawn beginning Monday, Aug. 5.

Summer reading takes place every year to encourage reading as a life-long habit, increase interest from the community in the library and encourage school-age children to continue reading over the summer. A library card is not needed to register; however, a library card can be requested for those interested. Participating in Summer of Imagination activities is free.

A series of events and activities for all ages will take place throughout Summer of Imagination, beginning with an engaging performance by Danza Azteca from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Friday, May 31, at Central Library. Enjoy snacks, music and dancing and a free book when you register for Summer of Imagination. Additional events include Forest and Water Nature Adventures, Smoky Hill Trail Adventures and more. For more information and to register, visit AuroraGov.org/SummerofImagination.

The summer reading program is made possible thanks to the support of Donor Alliance, Friends of Aurora Public Library and Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers.
