Letter from the Director
News from CRC
Dear Friends,
It has been a beautiful season of ministry up here on the mountain!
CRC Work Retreat
On Good Friday, a couple of days before Easter, about a dozen adults and children came to serve CRC sacrificially. We started with dinner together and afterward Tim shared part of the Easter Story in a semi-circle with everyone taking part. In the morning, after a simple breakfast, everyone got right to work, two men plus staff guys installed a whopping nine windows around camp in one day. Six adults and two youth raked up two trailers full of debris after the winter storms from the flower beds and trails. One volunteered their time deep cleaning the kitchen and washing windows. Whew, what a whirlwind of excitement that was! We deeply appreciate the love and kindness of friends, thank you!
Mark Twain Junior High Work Day
Just three days later we were blessed with 25 student volunteers from our local Junior High! We broke the kids up into five groups. They came with great attitudes and sleeves rolled up as they stacked firewood, folded and stuffed
Koinonia Bible School brochures, raked up another five pickup loads of debris and weeded garden beds. WOW! As a reward, we fed them chips and took them on the Zip Line. We give a big "thank you" to these young people.
CRC Women's Retreat
In April we also had an incredible 87 attendees at our CRC's Women's Retreat with Amy Schones sharing messages on the life of Eve out of the book of Genesis, "Redemption After the Fall" with many personal testimonies of how God has freed her of various fears. On Sunday we asked if anyone would like to give their life to Christ and know for sure that they are saved and four women came forward, what a JOY! In conclusion we shared together on the topic of "Hearing God's Voice" and prayed for each other in groups of two. One woman wrote me later and shared that her life was changed, she was no longer afraid to be alone. I said, "Yeah that was a great weekend" and she replied, "It wasn't great, it was amazing."
Pastor Billy Ford will share on how to be a World Changer through messages taken from the
book of Daniel. Daniel and his friends faced great adversity but were still used by God to transform a pagan empire. As Christian Americans we can learn a lot from the story of these young men in Babylon. Pastor Ford's messages are entitled:
1. The Perspective of the World Changer
2. The Purity and Partnerships of the World Changer
3. The Power of the World Changer
4. The Provisions of the World Changer
5. The Proclamation of the World Changer
Prayer Request
In closing, we'd like to share a prayer request for CRC's Founding Director Eunice Hansen. She took a tumble the other day carrying the mail up to the Lodge. She is okay and actually feels pretty good but her whole face is badly bruised and swollen. We did take her to the hospital and they gave her a CAT scan and she got the thumbs that everything is okay, so that is good news! If you'd like to send her a note that would bless I know. Her 93rd Birthday is coming up on May 25th as well!

Memorial Day Weekend
with Billy Ford
May 26 - 29
Rev. Billy Ford grew up in a Christian household, his dad a Baptist pastor and his mom a Christian author. While studying in college to be an engineer and wrestling with doubts about his faith, everything changed when he was taken hostage by a dangerous criminal. God miraculously rescued him and soon began to work powerfully in his life. Sensing a call to full time ministry, Billy took a position as an intern in his church, focusing mainly on youth ministry. After serving as a youth pastor for ten years, he became the senior pastor of Bouquet Canyon Church, a nondenominational church in southern California, where he has served the past twelve years.
Billy has now had the opportunity to share
Christ on five continents. He has a passion to help people experience God personally and live Holy Spirit empowered, world-changing lives. He and his wife, Denise, have five children.
His topic for the weekend will be from the book of Daniel, looking at how Daniel and his friends faced great adversity, but were still used by God to transform a pagan empire. America is not so Christian anymore, so we can learn a lot from the story of these young men in Babylon. His messages will be entitled:
1. The Perspective of the
Worldchanger
2. The Purity and Partnerships of the Worldchanger
3. The Power of the Worldchanger
4. The Provisions of the Worldchanger
5. The Proclamation of the Worldchanger

Summer Family Camps
Summer camp is one of our favorite times of year here at CRC and it is open to adult singles, married couples and families. What a wonderful way to get away as scrumptious meals are provided and classes are offered from nursery to teens during the adult session.
Come and enjoy a time set a part to seek the Lord and hear from some great speakers. Be refreshed as you hike the Falls, sit in the sun, or browse the Lamppost Books and Espresso. We encourage Godly fellowship around the table and times of prayer in one of our beautiful prayer chapels. Or if you are up for an adventure, ride one of our rope swings or whiz by in the trees on our zip line. We also have archery and mountain golf!
WEEK 1 with Bruce Stefanik
July 10th-15th
Bruce and Linda have been married for over 30 years. They became followers of Jesus together in 1978, led to the Lord by a small and dedicated band of believers who had a heart for evangelism and the Kingdom of God.
They followed the call of God on their lives into full time missions work. Serving for 16 years, with the majority of that time spent in Latin America, they returned to the United States in 2000 and continue their ministry as lead pastors of Church on the Hill in Salem, Oregon.
We are so honored to have Bruce sharing at this retreat! His heart for God and his passion for making disciples will bless and encourage you!
Paul Hawkins has served with Youth With A Mission since 1971, pioneering the first training center for YWAM in Scandinavia. In 1974 he and his family moved to Hawaii where he played a vital role in the foundation of YWAM's University of the Nations.
In 1990 Paul created the School of Intercession, Worship and Spiritual Warfare. He has been the keynote speaker at over 40 education seminars on every continent covering over 20 nations. Paul lectures literally around the globe, speaking in YWAM's training programs. As a visionary pioneer, Paul's expertise and prophetic teaching ministry are highly regarded. We are extremely honored to have him here at CRC!
His well-researched yet down-to-earth, practical and sincere teaching style and his stories of his adventures in faith will inspire and encourage you. Paul currently resides with his wife, Peggy, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
WEEK 3 with Kim Meeder
August 4th-6th (this is a special weekend-only event)
Kim Meeder's life was torn apart at the early age of nine by her parents' murder-suicide. She has since chosen to rise above the pain and become a powerful influence in the lives of many disadvantaged youth. On the day of her parents' funeral, Kim experienced the special emotional comfort a horse could provide. This healing refuge became the foundation for all that was to follow. Through the love of a little mare and a merciful God, Kim's life was saved.
In 1995, Kim and her husband
Troy made the decision to transform their 9-acre cinder quarry into a ranch for kids.
Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch (CPYR) was born. This unique non-profit organization rescues abused and neglected horses and nurtures them back to health. These same horses are then used in the ranch's riding program for children. Approximately 85% of the children who come to CPYR are disadvantaged in some way. The ranch focuses on individual instruction for each participant with one leader, one child and one horse...free of charge.
Kim is a published author of several nationwide received books, including: Hope Rising, Bridge Called Hope, Blind Hope, and Beauty. She has interviewed for magazines, radio, and television with groups such as, Focus on the Family, Family Talk Radio, and Recording Artist. She has been endorsed by Dr. James Dobson, Dr. Julie Slattery, Meredith Andrews, and Oregon State Senator, Chris Telfer. Kim Meeder is an accomplished speaker and has addressed audiences across the country from churches and book clubs to U.S. Government policy councils and a portion of the U.S. Senate in Washington, D.C. In addition to her writing, speaking and duties at CPYR, Kim is also a gifted athlete. She competed on a national level in Nordic ski racing and participated in the U.S. Olympic biathlon trials. She has also set two world records in power lifting. Kim has climbed many of the highest peaks in Oregon, Washington and California. One of her newest interests is surfing. If the sport will take Kim into the great outdoors, you will probably find her there!
WEEK 4 with Darrell and Sherri Beebe
August 7th-12th
Darrell and Sherri have been married 44 years and have two grown children and six grandchildren. They currently live at the foot of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. Darrell grew up in Forks, Washington and felt a call to ministry and missions in his early teens. He graduated from Northwest University in 1975. Darrell holds credentials with the Assemblies of God and has been ordained since 1978.
Sherri grew up in Vancouver, Washington and sensed God's call to mission's service. She also holds credentials with the Assemblies of God and was ordained in 2012. Darrell and Sherri met at Northwest University in 1971, and married in 1972. They began youth ministry in 1973 serving in Lake Stevens, Issaquah and Port Orchard. They took their first pastorate in 1978 in Vader, Washington. In 1984 they left for the Solomon Islands as foreign missionaries. They have served in the Solomon Islands, Palau, and Japan. Since returning to the states they have pastored in Port Angeles and Mossyrock, Washington.
Darrell and Sherri have continued to reach out to people around the world and have preached and taught in 21 countries. The Beebes are warm, engaging communicators. Their unique style of 'tag team' preaching holds the attention of young and more mature listeners alike. They will be sharing "seven practical steps for spiritual growth". Personal Retreats
Come away and seek the Lord!
Did you know that CRC offers Personal Retreats?
Personal Retreats are available for individuals and families looking for an environment that fosters personal communion with Jesus.
Pray and read the scriptures in our chapels, walk our grounds, enjoy solitude and quiet. You can join us for any or all of the meals we are serving, or fast and pray. These retreats are offered year-round on a donation basis as space permits.
If you are looking for quiet, you will find plenty of that during the weekdays, especially in the fall, winter, and spring. If you enjoy lots of company and sharing meals in our Main Lodge, check to see if there is space available on a weekend.
