They Leave... We Don't!
40 Days for Life Starts Sept. 25
Shawn Carney, the head of 40 Days for Life who played a key role in Abby Johnson's conversation, spoke at our 40 Days for Life Launch Party in Metairie last week and said something that stuck with me, "Have you ever noticed that it is only abortion advocates that become pro-life? I have never seen a pro-life leader decide to become an abortion advocate."

He's right. Folks like Abby Johnson, Anthony Levantino, Haywood Robinson, and originally, Bernard Nathanson and Norma McCorvey, are just a few of the abortion leaders who have changed stripes to life. I can't think of any the other way around.

40 Days for Life is one of the best ways to show love to women considering abortion AND those people who work at the facility. To date, 40 Days for Life has seen 191 abortion facility employees leave their jobs during a campaign. Starting Sept. 25, 40 Days for Life will be active in New Orleans , Baton Rouge , and Shreveport . This is a great way for you and your church or group to save lives and witness to life!

40 Days for Life Campaigns Begin Sept. 25 in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Shreveport
With abortion-on-demand legal in the United States, we must unite in our local communities and across the nation to call for an end to abortion. Stand with us this fall to protect women and unborn children from abortion through inter-denominational prayer, peaceful vigil, and community activism. 40 Days for Life is Sept. 25 through Nov. 3, with three campaigns going on simultaneously in Louisiana, in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Shreveport.

Abortion Survivor Claire Culwell Speaking
at Chers Bébés: Acadiana's Soirée for Life
Claire Culwell, who survived the abortion that took the life of her twin brother, will be the guest speaker at Chers Bébés: Acadiana’s Soirée for Life, on Thursday, Oct. 24, at Cathedral Hall in Lafayette. The sixth annual Chers Bébés, sponsored by Acadiana Right to Life and Louisiana Right to Life, benefits the Dr. Zerben Bienvenu and Dr. William Smith Fund for Acadiana Pro-Life Education, dedicated to the pro-life education of middle and high school students across Acadiana through interactive presentations and activities. Sponsorships are now available, and table hosts are being sought.

70 percent of Louisianians are pro-life – so it should be easy to pass the Love Life Constitutional Amendment on Nov. 3, 2020! But we must make sure that all our pro-life people are aware and show up to vote. Dedicated volunteers are necessary to make this happen. We need team captains and members to be local resources for the campaign in each parish and community. Let us know if you want to be a part of this grand campaign!
All statewide elected offices will be on the ballot this fall, and as a part of Louisiana Right to Life's educational role, we are dedicated to informing voters on where candidates and incumbents stand on life issues. Louisiana Right to Life is asking all candidates for the House and Senate to fill out a legislative questionnaire, and we are publishing responses as we receive them. We encourage you to vote pro-life on Oct. 12.
More than 200 people attended last month's Northwest Louisiana Pro-Life Prayer Breakfast, where they heard life updates from Attorney General Jeff Landry, Congressman Mike Johnson and others. The event, the second annual, was held at First United Methodist Church in Shreveport.
Shawn Carney, president and co-founder of 40 Days for Life, spoke during last week's 40 Days for Life NOLA launch party at St. Angela Merici and urged everyone in attendance to participate in 40 Days for Life and be there for the women and men who show up at the abortion facility and need their prayers.
The summer issue of The Luminary will be hitting mailboxes around Louisiana this week. Are you a Luminary member? If not, join us and we'll make sure you receive this tabloid filled with life affirming stories and updates!
The Louisiana Life March dates have been set! Mark your calendars now and come "Love Life" with us at one of five marches: Lake Charles, Shreveport-Bossier, Baton Rouge, West Monroe-Monroe, and Pineville-Alexandria.
