Welcome to the August Update!

Greetings!
Thanks for signing up to receive monthly newsletters from the Windbridge Institute, LLC! We work to Normalize, Optimize, and Utilize psi functioning.
Let’s talk about parapsychology, meditation, presentiment, and more!
Even with mainstream objections over the existence of psi (precognition, telepathy, clairvoyance, and mind-matter interactions), dedicated and highly trained scientists from around the world continue to conduct groundbreaking research in this exciting field. These efforts were highlighted at the recent
Parapsychological Association
(PA) convention. The four-day meeting featured 19 full paper presentations, 6 research briefs, as well as workshops and posters. The complete program schedule along with all the abstracts can be found
HERE
.
If you want to stay up-to-date on the PA’s activities, be sure to follow them on
Facebook.
Here at the
Windbridge Institute
, we are moving full-speed ahead on a number of different projects:
Over in my corner of the lab I am continuing my work with
symbolic machines
to predict voting outcomes in the upcoming November elections and planning a replication and extension of the intentional dataset experiment I shared at the
June SSE/IRVA meeting
. I also have another exciting project in the works that I hope to be able to tell you more about next month – stay tuned! You can find a list of many of our current research projects
HERE
.
We hope you enjoy this month’s update which includes:
Normalize:
News about a new APA-published paper by Etzel Cardeña, PhD
Optimize:
A wonderful new resource on meditation
Utilize:
Exploring Presentiment with the Choice Compass app

From the abstract:
“This article presents a comprehensive integration of current experimental evidence and theories about so-called parapsychological (psi) phenomena…This article clarifies the domain of psi, summarizes recent theories from physics and psychology that present psi phenomena as at least plausible, and then provides an overview of recent/updated meta-analyses. The evidence provides cumulative support for the reality of psi, which cannot be readily explained away by the quality of the studies, fraud, selective reporting, experimental or analytical incompetence, or other frequent criticisms.”
While the full paper text is still behind the publisher’s paywall, the complete abstract can be found
HERE
.
Why this is important:
1. The paper is excellent. Cardeña provides a comprehensive review of the state of parapsychological research.
2. Having a “pro-psi” paper published by the APA will continue to normalize psi and destigmatize psi experiencers and practitioners.
Our congratulations to Dr. Cardeña for this important contribution.

Want to know the “secret” to getting in touch with your intuition?
It’s meditation.
Research
suggests
that people who meditate regularly perform better on psi tests. But not everyone knows how to start or maintain a regular meditation practice. Add to that all the conflicting and inaccurate information about meditation and those new to it can quickly become overwhelmed and discouraged.
The book is divided into five main sections: Understanding Meditation, Meet the Meditating Mind, Starting Your Practice, The Many Types of Meditation, and Integrating and Deepening. The introduction is excellent with chapters on “Meditation Myth Busting” and “Practical Spirituality.”
It’s a great resource for new meditators and experienced meditators may find some new ideas to help enhance their practice.
Remember: Always check with your healthcare provider when making lifestyle changes.

Dean Radin, PhD, defines
presentiment
as “an unconscious form of precognition, that is, pre-feeling (sentiment) as compared to pre-knowing (cognition).” In other words, the body “knows” about, and in some cases responds to, events before they occur.
Formal presentiment experiments are complex and require the accurate recording and timing of physiological measures and the proper application of statistics to confirm the effect. However, there is a neat little app that lets you explore presentiment on your own.
Invented by neuroscientist and presentiment researcher,
Julia Mossbridge, PhD
,
Choice Compass
is an app that allows you to tap into your subconscious and helps you choose between two options. It uses the built-in camera on your smartphone or tablet to analyze your heart rhythms that are related to your feelings about the choices.
I have been running my own personal tests with Choice Compass over the past couple of years and I’m always pleasantly surprised by the results. It does take a little practice to get a good reading from the camera, but I’m using the Android version, which I’m told is a little more finicky than the iPhone app.

Reminder: lowered price!
The images on these cards, called PsiForms, were created from data that were collected from a Random Event Generator (REG) while meditators focused their intention on the specific ideas that are listed on each card.
There is a theory that suggests that when a group of people are engaged in a common task or experiencing a common event, a kind of “group consciousness” is created which can affect the output of electronic devices like REGs.
This idea was studied for nearly 30 years at the Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research (PEAR) lab (1979-2007). Their research resulted in a large
body of data
that support this idea of group consciousness. Today, the research continues with the
Global Consciousness Project
and in other research labs around the world.
To explore this idea of group consciousness, researchers Julie Beischel, PhD, and Mark Boccuzzi of the Windbridge Institute developed these meditations and the specialized software that converts the binary data from the REGs into the images displayed on these cards.
A more complete description of the process can be found in Mark’s book,
Visualizing Intention: Art Informed by Science
, which is available as a free PDF

About the Windbridge Institute, LLC
|
Formed in 2008, the
Windbridge Institute, LLC, is dedicated to conducting world-class research on phenomena currently unexplained within traditional scientific disciplines.
Our main areas of research and development currently include
Mindfulness,
Creativity,
Intuition, and
Intention.
Our goals are to: 1)
Normalize reports of psi functioning (precognition, telepathy, clairvoyance, and mind-matter interactions); 2)
Optimize psi functioning through the use of traditional mindfulness practices, new emerging technologies, and creative expression; and 3)
Utilize psi in an attempt to solve real-world problems.
Starting in July 2017, the Institute’s research on mediums and afterlife topics was moved to the Windbridge Research Center, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity. To learn more about the Windbridge Research Center and to sign-up to their email list please visit
