CEO Insights

Happy April! Although the temperatures may not quite reflect it yet, spring is indeed upon us.

April brings with it a special focus on Second Chance Month, a time dedicated to recognizing the importance of providing individuals with the opportunity to rebuild their lives after incarceration. At Employ Milwaukee, we are deeply committed to supporting returning citizens as they reintegrate into society and pursue meaningful employment opportunities.

Our approach is twofold. We work closely with returning citizens, offering them resources, support, and pathways to success as they navigate their way back into the workforce. Through tailored programs and guidance, we equip them with the skills and confidence needed to secure and thrive in employment opportunities.

Simultaneously, we engage with employers throughout our community, advocating for the inclusion of returning citizens within their workforce. We provide guidance and resources to employers on how to effectively hire and retain returning citizens, showcasing the benefits of tapping into this underutilized labor pool. You'll read in Dontae's success story below the impact made when employers engage in creating solutions for those reentering the workforce. By facilitating these connections and providing ongoing support, we bridge the gap between returning citizens seeking opportunities and employers seeking talent.

Creating inclusive pathways for returning citizens not only benefits individuals seeking a fresh start but also has a broader positive impact on our community and economy. When employers embrace the potential of returning citizens and provide them with opportunities for meaningful employment, they not only contribute to reducing recidivism rates but also tap into a diverse pool of talent that enriches their workforce.

As we observe Second Chance Month, let us reaffirm our commitment to creating a more inclusive and supportive community for all members. Together, let us work towards a future where every individual has the opportunity to rebuild their lives, contribute to the workforce, and thrive.

Sincerely,

Chytania Brown
