National Volunteer Week ~ That's a Wrap!
During National Volunteer Week we held a colouring contest...what a huge success with 48 colouring pages returned for a chance to win a $25 gift cards in four age categories:
· (10) under 6 - Winner Dawson
· (13) 6-11 yr olds - Winner Zofia
· (12) 11-18 yr olds, - Winner Mikyla
· (13) adults - Winner Auralei
Thank you to our nominators for taking the time to shine light on our amazing volunteers, congratulations to our award nominees and recipients; thank you to MLA Johnson and Council for celebrating with us and thank you to MEGlobal and Volunteer Alberta for your continued support to our volunteer recognition events.
As we reflect on the successful completion of National Volunteer Week, we are excited to shift our focus towards the upcoming opportunities to make a difference in our community.
The Blackfalds Days event on Father’s Day weekend presents a wonderful chance to get involved, with various volunteer roles available. From assisting at the Thursday night Moto Cross Show to supporting Youth Night Out on Friday and helping out at the Pancake Breakfast and Kids Zone on Saturday, there are plenty of ways to contribute.
And then mark your calendars the Abbey Centre Super Kids Triathlon on July 6, a thrilling event that combines the excitement of triathlon with a superhero theme, inspiring our young participants to discover their inner hero. As we embrace the words of Superman – “There is a superhero in all of us. We just need the courage to put on the cape!” – we invite you to consider joining us. If you'd like to sign up for one of the events, the newsletter contains all the information you need to get involved. Let’s come together, embrace our inner superheroes, and create a positive impact on the community!
